6694 OysterDate Precision Dial Needed

Hi,

I have a 1960's OysterDate Precision that my dad gave me. The dial is faded and worn out. Can anyone help me with information on how and where I can get a new authentic dial for the watch ?

Regards,
Rachit

There seems to be plenty on eBay.

Ideas ......

Welcome Rachit.

Yip. I wouldn't usually send someone to eBay but it's worth a try for a 6694 dial.
As cheap as $80 for something like this interesting textured dial ...

.... or up to $195 for something like this (overpriced IMO) ...

Possible that neither are good enough for you but gives you an idea of what's out there. Plenty of nasty refinished dials on eBay too.
The odd colour schemes and weird fonts usually scream fake but I think the two above are AOK.

Some vintage parts are traded here on RF too or a WTB on VRF may be worth a try. If possible, try for a genuine dial being sold with its original handset - saves the hassle of sourcing a set later

eBay is a great place to get midsize watch dials, while there are a lot fakes, they're usually pretty easy to spot. Just make sure there Aren't any Knicks or scratches prior to purchase. Any dial damage no matter how small is fairly easily noticeable and dial damage drives me nuts. A good clean dial shouldn't set you back much more than $100, the textured dial paul posted would be really nice, except it's quite scratched. None the less there are plenty more to be had

Try giving Riki at time care a call. You will most likely need someone to do the work!

I am in the market for a new dial as well. My 6694 has a decent dial, its not entirely worn out, however some of the the glow in the dark beads (I think its glow in the dark..?) are missing. Some of the hour markers are slightly tarnished as well.

Ebay has a few that seem fairly priced, but how do you spot the fakes?

That's a repainted dial (it even says so in the description). Not really desirable, nor attractive.

Credit where it's due though - they don't make any claims that their eBay offerings are genuine.

No way that this Ludgate dial came out of the Rolex factory anyway. You can do much better ...

Look and see the sellers other items, if they have 5-10+ of the same/similar dials chances are they're fake, if they're not marked swiss or t swiss t at the bottom chances are they're fake, anything with Roman numerals or 3-6-9 dials for a rolex precision is fake, anything mother of pearl on an oyster precision is fake, diamond dial oyster precisions... Fake. If you have any concerns post pics, 99% of oyster precision dials are stick dials, and if you want an authentic one, keep looking at the stick markers and post here who're purchase to illeviate concern
