126711CHNR or 116710LN choice

If you had to choose between keeping one of the two, which one would you keep?
I think the LN in the investment eyes will increase its value more than the rootbeer but do the looks of the rose gold beat the case?
Let’s hear everyone’s opinions 💪

Are you keeping one because you love it or because it will make money?

Personally I’d keep the one that will bring me the most enjoyment.

What makes you think the LN will increase in value more than the root beer? The LN can be had for close to retail after being discontinued for years, while the root beer goes for a premium while still in production.

Investment value aside, I think the CHNR is a far more Interesting piece and would hang on to it.

The CHNR looks massive on your wrist, perhaps sell both and buy a daytona?

I would not view either as an investment. Keep the one you like wearing the most.

Root beer. I’ve never been that huge of a fan of the LN even when they were selling used for 6k back in 2016

Personally I love both of them and that’s why I struggle to make the choice. Only reason why I started to look at the revaluation of it.
They are both stunning pieces and if I didn’t have to make the decision I wouldn’t sell neither

My view, both are great timepieces! But I would keep the CHNR. I’m biased, because that is what I purchased.

The LN, is very versatile as an all black watch. Personally, I always felt a GMT should have a two color bezel. LN felt like a black sub with time zones (sorta) and looks a bit bland when compared to the CHNR in your photo. Perhaps drop it and pickup a Sub ND?

I would keep the LN as I find it more attractive. Not a fan of TT and not a fan of RG but have owned both before. The Rootbeer is a nice watch if you have the right skin tone and accessories but it is a kind of flavor of the month watch. Historically TT watch have not performed as well as SS in the secondary market and since the LN is discontinued it will only go up.

Keep the one you like more and would wear the most. Lots of people will say LN simply because they don't like rose gold...so that is not much help to you. FWIW I think Rolex will release another black GMT Master at some point so I don't really think they are that great of an "investment". They made a TON of those LN watches over 10+ years so they are not rare.

Not a fan of either. Get all gold CHNR or BLRO.

I am with the "get the one you like the most" since I never thought of watches as investments.

I have the LN, prefer the LN. I’m not a TT guy, but the CHNR is one of the few I would consider buying. Keep what you like and will wear.

Whoever said the LN is selling on gray/second hand close to MSRP is wrong. Look at Chrono 24, anywhere from high $9K to $15K. DavidSW has a couple selling over $10K.

Rootbeer better looking, and may even increase in value if the rumors of it being discontinued, and then brought back on jubilee materialize. Rolex is planning to reserve oyster for divers, and jubilee for GMT it seems. Nothing special about the black GMT in my opinion other than the little bit of green. Too many where produced for a long period to increse in value further. Just keep the one you like better.

LN. I am not a fan of a two tone bracelet as it’s a little too ‘disco’ for me. I also prefer white gold over yellow or rose gold because it’s the stealth wealth less flashy choice. But, as you asked for these are just my opinions on what makes me happy. It is your hard earned cash and your watch. One thing I’ve learned as I’ve grown older: in matters such as this, the only person you need to make happy is yourself. Pick whichever one gives you the greatest pleasure and the heck with what others think.

What else is in the collection?

Maybe a simple though excitement would be let’s say Rolex releases LN with red hands. Do you want that watch? Would you suddenly want the more “limited and discontinued“ green hands? Or neither aways you at that point?

CHNR... then realized you seem to only care about resale value. Sad, really. Wish you the best in your efforts.

Investment means nothing to me, they will both hold good value anyway. I tried on and had to turn down the Chnr at my AD, just can't do TT. I still have to give a Sub the edge over a Gmt, I do have a Sub and Blnr. The Sub is most likely the best made piece in the catalog.

a watch shall be bought to be worn not as a piece of investment ... prob there are more Pepsis Batmans or LNs in safes than on wrists

back to subject, they are quite different watches, IMO LN is more like a daily wear while RootBeer is more flashy to have it with jeans or in a biz casual outing and i would take it more to an evening outing. Nevertheless i prefer Rootbeer

Which functionality do you use more, GMT or diving bezel? I use a GMT function frequently and it can also be used to time intervals, not to mention tracking three time zones with a bit of mental arithmetic. So I'd keep the GMT.

Aesthetics wise it's just as subjective. I think the TT CHNR is rather special and visually clever. The LN has never appealed to me. I have a TT CHNR so I'm biased.

Investment value? Who cares? If you think you can treat a watch as an investment you've either set yourself a very low bar or you're going to be disappointed. Even if it doubles in value you'll need to own hundreds, preferably thousands of them to live off the proceeds. And to live off any proceeds you'll have to dispose of the asset, which makes it a lousy investment.

Either is great but your comment about the LN having more upside I'm not sure about. I think it has topped out at 10k-11k already for the old 40 hour movement, hmm. More and you are getting into Batman territory. We will see.

Multiple ways to look at this. depends on what you paid for the pieces to acquire them. The LN GMT is out of production and prices will slowly rise. The CHNR is in current production so secondary market prices are above retail, but will probably remain about the same as long as it's in production. If you just want to keep only one then pick the one you like to wear the most. I never owned the green hand GMT and always wanted one, so I woud keep it and put it on a rubber B strap and turn into a daily driver.
