Yeah a zenith white dial 16520 vs a black 116520 is gonna make these numbers all over the place. I like the black dial better if we’re takking just 116520s.

I prefer the white. The dial is crisper, easier to read than the black. I think the white has a more elegant persona than the black.

Thought I’d renew this thread due to the fact I have been wondering the same Thing lately. I’m leaning towards the white with the 116520 reference.

Owned both before. Had a black and then sold it off. Bought a white some time later and eventually sold it off too. Figured I liked the black one a whole lot more. Definitely will buy the black again someday

In this reference I waited for a white dial. It’s always spoken to me. But I love the classic black dial on my 16610, no interest in a Kermit or a Hulk (no disrespect - they look great, just not me). And I waited on the less common black dial for my 1803 exactly because it wasn’t the classic look.

I personally prefer the ceramic daytona but between the two you mentioned, the black dial contrast works better for me!

Black is best for the 116520. White is best for the 116500. Just my humble opinion.

Said it before, and I'll say it again .... the black 116500 is far more appealing on the wrist than the white, but in photos the white is prettier. Why? Simply because of the contrast of the black sub-dial rings on white. It's just more photogenic.

I'm convinced that's why the white version seems to be more sought-after, although I think the gap is closing. Most guys are ordering/buying Daytonas based on photos, because these aren't exactly sitting around on AD shelves to be tried on.

I've owned both versions (twice), and each time I wore the white, I couldn't get over that toothpaste feel of the white. Reminded me too much of a '90s TAG. Black is sleeker and cooler, IMHO.

It’s funny... When I purchased my 116520 white back in 2002, white was even more sought after then than it is now.. Most people were only offered black, if even offered... Both are beautiful and very hard to acquire at retail....

I'm a big fan of white dials in the sunlight. Short of having a sunburst dial, the white looks great. Obviously the sunburst dial looks better in sunlight.

I like the black for 116520. Not a fan of the silver sub dial rings on the white dial.
