Purchased my first Rolex yesterday so had to join the site that helped me decide
So I found what I believe is a decent deal on a 1999 16613 sub with Swiss only dial. I plan on wearing it daily. Any tips for care or just general knowledge is much appreciated. Thank you all for the wealth of information contained on this forum.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations, great reference
Do you know the service history of the watch? Does it keep good time? Soap and water with a soft toothbrush is all you need to keep it clean |

Thanks all for the warm welcome. Unfortunately it did not come with papers from my jeweler. I purchased as a daily so papers didn’t kill the deal.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum. That’s a lovely timepiece
Nowadays, I clean mine with a soft baby toothbrush once a week.

Great! Has anyone here used a sonic cleaner? Would it compromise the integrity of the seals?
Also, the watch keeps impeccable time which is astounding to me since it’s old enough to legally drink at the bar. . |

You cannot put the watch head into an ultrasonic, bracelet only. I would just have an AD do an ultrasonic on the bracelet once a year and it will probably be fine. I’m constantly wearing a watch in the shower, i wash it in there and grab a cloth to dry it off every once in a while. Seems to work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Nice!! Thanks for the input I read on another post a lot of people wear their watches daily but NOT in the shower. For the life of me I couldn’t understand why a watch could be rated for 1000’ but not be safe in the shower.
