Tudor BB 58 Blue already available...

I just saw the first BB 58 blue listed for sale. It’s crazy how this got into dealer/grey hands and industry “reviewers” (based on all the pics on insta) so quickly So why does it take Rolex so long to release a model.....kind of makes you think they are purposefully limiting supply to the market. Just an observation....

The gray prices are astounding. If someone offered me that much for mine, I can’t say I wouldn’t be tempted to unload it. It’s a great watch, but at the end of the day, it’s a modern Tudor.

The gray prices are astounding and a little head-scratching. I can’t say that I wouldn’t be tempted to sell mine if someone offered me $5000 for it. At the end of the day it’s still a modern Tudor.

Of course they are limiting supply to the market. Is this not a widely known fact?

I think this same, probably rheotorical, question myself. I wonder if there was an immediate release of other “hot” models, would they still be “hot” a few months or years later? Probably not. We want what we can’t have.

Having AD's stocked w/ new references before the release is a new welcome change Tudor incorporated this year. Kudos to them for creating demand and filling it quickly. I'd like to see other brands take the same tact. Although you'll never see this w/ Rolex.

+1. Uptickwatches made a very intersting video about it. What's the point of releasing something, creating a hype and then delivering on time? Rolex can get away with it because they are Rolex.

My guess on this is that all of this was scheduled for July anyways with intro being basel. Ofcourse basel got canned, timelines shifted a bit but now they have inventory that is all planned for to roll out and so they did.

Just my estimation. For such a large campaign, things are planned years in advance and cannot be canned/halted for another year.

Watch fairs are a waste of time largely. Mostly to create buzz and kiss butt. Outdated and antiquated. Mark this post if covid lasts into 2021 Rolex will do it all online.

I think you're right and we might not see a release w/ simultaneous availability in the future under "normal" circumstances.

I agree, this is most likely the reason but it’s a welcome change.

It might be exactly what they need. I would love to see online releases, online sales would be even better.

There indeed is likely a long waiting list already but never in recent memory has the watch been “available” upon the reveal as evidenced by several grey dealers having one for sale and all the instagram people already have one.

Honestly, not meant to shade Tudor, but I can't imagine a world where I would pay above list for one.

One can argue that Rolex is a mass produced watch, but then what does that make Tudor?

An even more mass produced watch?

I saw one of these listed on DSW on launch day for above list price.

It was gone before the days end.

Insane.

Tudor makes nice watches, but I wouldn't be willing to pay more on the gray market for one, unlike Rolex.

I stopped into a local Rolex/Tudor dealer today to see if they had one. They were actually in the process of selling a fabric strap version and let me see it. It’s got a nice overall vintage vibe to it but seemed kind of petite to me, maybe the bracelet would make it look bigger.
The very nice saleswoman offered to take my information if I wanted one, didn’t sound like it would take long, but didn’t sing to me. It was refreshing to see a full Tudor case, the Rolex case was as usual slim pickings. She did compliment me on my BLRO.

Imagine a world where Rolex would do the exact same thing with their hot new models?

I walked into my local store this morning, and there was a navy blue one in the case. It was pretty underwhelming. I didn't even ask to look at it. It looks really plain next to all the other BBs in the case.

There are always enough people that want the latest edition of anything. This craziness will pass and reality will set in soon enough. Tudor ain't no Rolex and those 58 Blues will be selling for 10-20% discount soon enough. Meaning if you are smart you’ll wait...

He’s got one listed for $5,475 . I’m certain someone will buy it.

$1500 or so above msrp. But when MSRP is only $3700 and they are being offered north of 5k, that’s a 40% markup.

LOL

Stupid ppl paying above msrp for this. Why on earth would you do that for a Tudor? LMFAO.

Just wait a few months. This happens with every new release huge hype then no1 cares. Its a TUDOR dont forget that. Many many many better and nicer looking watches to buy than this.
