I remember reading this and knew exactly what you felt like. So GLAD you found them. I know what that is like also.

I purchased my first Montblanc 144 fountain pen just before taking my first trip into the heartland of Communist China back in the '80s. I decided to buy it and a nice journal to record the trip. Several years later that pen went missing and I was gutted. Tore up 1/2 of the state of New Mexico looking for it. Several years later I was cleaning out our Chrysler minivan and was really getting under the driver's seat with the vacuum and noticed a piece of trash lodged along the seat railing. Reached in to retrieve the trash and out came my cherished pen. Hallelujah!

Still have that pen and it always brings up profound memories of that trip, its loss and recovery, and the satisfaction of purchasing my first nice fountain pen.

Congratulations on finding that pair! Glad you let us know!

My Compliments!

Amazingly, here it is 7 years later (yes Almost 7 YEARS TO THE DAY) and I was looking under garage steps for faucet part I dropped, I grabbed my flashlight and while I was looking in recessed corner under step I notice a black case - truth be told I thought it was knife case.

When I looked closer I knew immediately what it was. These two pens were lost 7 years ago, I was heartbroken. To say I am thrilled is an understatement.

Oddly both pens are out of ink and case does not have ink stains, I used these for work and always had ink it them. Tomorrow I will clean out, fill with ink and see how they work. Case and pens in great shape.

Christmas came early in VA:)
Awesome story, loved reading this thread, not for your 7 year pain but for the end result. Congrats
