In my experience no discount. But you can try bundeling your PM with a SS (for instance SS Daytona). That will save you quite some money versus buying the SS piece from a grey.

Depends on the PM model. I don’t see a discount on either of the two you are interested in.

Bought a 116519 in March; no discount. And still not even a hot SS offered...I am in a major market though.

I am guessing if you are in a small market and the PM piece has been sitting a while, it would be a different story vs. a big city. But I am certainly glad I bought mine when I did. No way I'd be paying MSRP now.

I think.

Best I could do lately is 1.5% off for wire VS credit card. Plus shipping to my home out of state saves sales tax and that in itself is a discount. 3 years ago 10% was not unheard of but today tougher especially if GMT Daytona but DD wont hurt to ask. my 2 cents

Actually I miss calculated. I paid 31,200 for a bnib dd40 and msrp is appropriate $36500. And no tax, from a grey dealer.

I have an AD offer for 10% off for a PM YM, but they have two of the watch, so they want to move it.

For the life of me I can't understand why anyone would pay MSRP when you can walk literally around the corner in NYC and buy the same thing from a trusted dealer for 10K less.

That is actually a high price from a gray dealer. The prices on the gray market have gone up ALOT. These were $26-$27k and I got mine for $27k.

We are not talking gray. AD prices here mate. Gray prices have gone up anyway so the differential between gray and AD is narrowing now.

I understand what you say...AD prices only...and my question remains: WHY?. What I'm talking about is how much you have to shell out for a watch. i'm not interested in being best friends with a watch salesman and if I can keep $10,000 in my pocket and still get the watch.........

No discount on a WG DD40 from my local AD. He can't keep non-diamond dial DD40 or DD36 in stock for longer than a couple of days. The other PMs, except for Yacht Masters, never make it to the display cases.

---

Why have gray DD40 prices gone up recently? Is it due to the msrp price increase? I want one for around $27k like the good ole days.

You can check the market price from the Gray market, if their price is less than MSRP, that is mean you have more chances to get some discount from ADs.

This is a valid point, but if you’re playing the long game, you may be robbing Peter to pay Paul.

I spent a lot more on my YG SD and DJ buying them from an AD. But in turn that’s got me to near the front of the list for every hot watch I’ve wanted in the last few years.

Grey prices for a PM Daytona are over RRP now, otherwise I would have bought one instead of waiting for my AD to call.

Thanks!
You’ll need at least full retail for many Pm now.
Go for it before another price increase hits us

Short of a seismic change in demand supply dynamics for Rolex watches, I do suspect that’s where things are headed.

Sports no. Some of the SS are so inflated in the grey market you are almost better paying a bit more and getting a PM that’s if you can find one. Stuff like DD etc maybe but not the 20% plus that used to be the case.

zero chance on a sports model.

tiny considerations can be had on dressier watches.

i mean come on folks. do you REALLY think you’re going to save 20% in this market on anything?

10 years ago I got my RG Daytona for 20+% off. 4 months ago I made an offer for 10% off RG Root Beer GMT to purchase on the spot...and was told it is full price...AND they would not ship out of state to help with sales tax. Signs of the time.

Give a 12-18 months, perhaps the table would be turned (I've been hoping for the last 4+ years)
