At that secondary price, I'd rather instead get a MSRP Exp, Milgauss, or OP

No shot - too many other worthwhile options at that price point

People talking 10% markup aren't being realistic. If I pay 7% tax on a submariner how can I sell it for only 10% above retail. Thats only 3% profit. I have never sold a watch, but why go through the hassle for 3%

I think I wouldn't get much pleasure out of wearing it knowing I got essentially screwed by a middleman who participates in hogging as many hot watches as possible to squeeze the market. Let's pile up all we can so that people will come to us at our asking price. Text book market abuse.

I’ve had an offer from a private seller for £10k...and it’s tempting (perhaps stupid, but tempting)

Hell no I wouldn't pay that for a SS reference. Not when you could get some PM bling for the same amount of money.
New Bluesy or CHNR TTs would get my money over an SS at that price any day of the week. |

Lol hype boys will spend hours to buy a hot shoe/shirt and sell for $100 profit. There’s a new crowd of resellers who most certainly would take days of their time to only profit $300

https://www.in2013dollars.com/us/inf...95?amount=3000 What's crazy is we know you paid $3,000 in 1995. I looked at buying the 16610 in 2002 for approx $3,300, 7 years later. Rolex prices barely moved during that time, and going grey always meant paying far less than retail. Now they are increasing MSRP at a rapid clip and going grey means paying much more than retail. If the new Porsche 911 had inflated prices that brought it into Porsche 911 GT3 price range, why wouldn’t I get the GT3 instead? Same for a plain black Sub - at $15k, I’m looking at GMT, Daytona’s for a little more etc..
It’s the base model sport watch that just began a very likely 10-12 year production run. There will be MANY on the market in short time unlike discontinued models. Grey market should be in the 10-20% premium range. |

Sub Date now breaking through into 13’s already
I’m telling you guys, just wait. Look at the amount of incomings for Subs on this very forum. It’s nuts to pay current premiums, just give it a few months and be patient |

I'm repeating myself here but remember what everyone said back in April when the economy tanked. There apparently is enough money floating around to absorb 150% of Rolex's annual production. The economy around affluent Americans has hardly dropped at all. BTW, I own three watches and I'm done (unless my next door neighbor loses his job and offers me one for $5K).

That’s WITHOUT factoring in the fact that the hype could die out on social media with the flip of a switch. Don’t get me wrong, MSRP on anything SS should maintain no issue, I’m only stating this grey prices are at an inflection point IMO. |

I am happy with my 16110 from 2010. No need for the new one. I don’t really see a difference, and I Do not need one larger than mine.

I am perfectly happy with the 16610. The new one is not different enough to justify getting it, and I certainly don’t need a larger diameter sub.

I believe the prices are falling on the grey market for this reference. Many incomings lately as well. I believe this is the least wanted piece among the new professional models and being that there's a whole decade of production in front of it, this will probably end up with a premium of 10-15%, same as the 114060 - if not lower as many don't seem to like the 41mm instead of 40 and a fat bracelet.
