This is my next piece for sure.
I went and checked one out at a grey dealer and it was stunning. As said above, classy, not too flashy but does attract some attention. The grey dealers seem to be selling it for a grand or two above retail and for me to buy from an AD here in NYC.....it'd end up paying the same price. The watch/diamond district mall near CRM jewelers in Miami had a bunch of them for sale.

Hi Steve,
Nice pix. I download the instructions for your new camera and had a good look at the specs. Wow it’s a beauty just like your new TT Rolex.

Just a Leica 1.4 lens would run you $3,500+ but with this Panasonic Lumix you get the whole deal for around US$550-$600. I've spent very little time setting up to take these photos, really just point and shoot. I know I can do much better, but they are pretty good for hand held shots in the garage! As for the watch, its not one to be flipped, I think this watch has very enduring qualities. I'm sure it would run fine wearing it on my motorbike in any conditions

This was a great addition to the GMT line by Rolex.

It's a home run. The pic earlier in the thread of the BLRO and BRLR says it all. Classic.

Great photos!!!
This watch is the best, but my date doesn't change until 12:05am.... I can live with that.

There’s nothing wrong with the watch as it’s design and execution has been tried and true for years. First in BLNR, then BLRO, and now in CHNR livery.
I just don’t warm to the CHNR color scheme as much as the Root Beer or Pepsi bezels of bygone days. Maybe had they used a bronze sunburst dial? But I am glad it is fulfilling many member’s dreams of a great watch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I'm not a big two-tone fan but the CHNR has me rethinking that. It is a really great looking watch.

The CHNR may be the nicest GMT Rolex has ever made. I almost bought one this summer. I'm not really certain how I'd do with the maxi case and smallish wrist however. Also as pointed out the resale on these is relatively low so it's hardly a jackpot win getting one. It's got to be a keeper.

I have seen one in person, and it is a stunner.
Brown is not a good color on me. And I don't like the price for the TT watches, which historically plummet in value.

Chnr is pulling
I was lucky enough to get one of the first CHNRs sold in Texas. It was my first major Rolex purchase after wearing a 16610 everyday for 10 years. I moved on from it because it was just such a stark departure from what I was used to. Just the wrong timing in my quest to figure out what I like. In retrospect I should have kept it. I have gone though a lot of watches to get to the lineup I have, which I feel great about, but the CHNR is one of the few I let go that haunts me. I will for sure add it back in 2019.

But, I wouldn't pay a nickel over MSRP.

I have not worn mine outside in a bright sun....but it seems to be at its best then (according to pics).
I actually saw pics posted by members here for months (before I bought mine) and still hadn’t realized the bezel was half brown! I thought it was all black....it just was due to the lighting of many of the pics posted. Once I noticed the bezel was half brown and saw some better pics....I was sold. Only regret is I wish I had the full PM! |

Rootbeer
I have always been lucky...just last week I was at an AD in Atlanta, and was regaling him with hunting stories. Told him I always wanted a Rootbeer, and Voila..., he motioned to his sales mgr and she came out a few minutes later with the new Rootbeer. I was not even on his list, and there I am, at the top! Of v CB purse I bought on the spot, and this watch is a real stunner!
Can’t get over it, and they are going for 18k online. No regrets here, Mr. Rootbeer! |

It's a beautiful watch, but for a TT the bluesy would be my choice.
