Yeah, but gold price is also up so all gold watches should go up. SS is just overhyped especially for the ones still in production. They are more approachable and have a bigger following that's all.

It is such a nice looking piece. I was blow away when I saw it in person.
My favorite of all current TT models.
I am getting on a wait list.

The CHNR is very special. Nothing to compare with. I got mine last Saturday and can’t stop looking at it once a minute :-)

Did you have to put a spacer-link to fill the gaps between the strap and watch case?

End links, but you can attach the strap without. I just prefer no gap, imo it looks cleaner.

The end links were provided by the strap maker.

For all you guys that got your 126711 CHNR in the last month or two, how many of you just walked into your AD and they happened to have one, and how many had to wait and for how long?

I am hoping to get mine before the year is over, with my luck it arrives Jan 2nd and on Jan 1st Rolex is going to increase prices again...lol

I live in NYC and purchased my TT CHNR a few weeks ago. The store sells 4-5 a year but could be a bit more. Honesty, I got lucky. This will go up in price with the recent run-up in gold prices worldwide.

Thanks for your reply sir. Gold prices, at least at the current state, will not affect the price of gold Rolex watches. Even a solid gold Sub or GMT only has about 2000 dollars worth of Gold in it, but yet they retail for 36k. It's the whole of the watch that determines the price. Once Gold hits 20k an ounce it would be worth it to melt down your precious metal Rolex collection and sell it for Gold....I suppose? LOL

A solid gold sub is around 220 grams and an ounce of gd is 1880 an oz as of right now. I think your math is flawed. Movement aside there would be at least 5 oz of gold in a solid gold model.

I was just guesstimating. A quick Google search will tell you that a DD (I am assuming a 36) weighs around 2.4 oz, that's 18k gold. So doing some quick math, you correctly stated that I was too low, especially with today's gold prices. Lets take 3 ounces times 1900 and take 75% of that and you land up with 4275 dollars. Still a far cry from the asking price of any precious metal watch in the current Rolex line up. My point was the actual gold content is just a small part of the total price of the watch and hence has little effect on the price of the watch since the markup is so high. You're not going to be able to sell your PM Rolex for double the money just because the price of Gold has doubled over the last 10 years.

Here's a pic on a brown leather strap. Not for everybody but it is a nice change from the original. Love my CHNR!

It would be helpful if you shared your location. NYC is a great place to purchase Rolex watches. Shipments have been flooding in over the past couple of months. Can't speak to other parts of the world.

I am in FL....on the non party side of the state...so things are a bit slow here. I am also dealing with a smaller AD in a smaller town...better chance to get to the top of "the list" faster due to less competition, but they also get shipments less frequently. But I have had a great experience with this AD so far, and I bought 2 watches from them in the last year, so I know they will come through. Threads like these just always get me excited, can't wait to get the watch!

I haven't been in the Rolex game too long, so I don't know if it's an annual thing where they increase their prices. In a way, I highly doubt it, seems a bit too frequent. On the other hand, since I bought my Bluesy in August of 2019, it's price went from 13400, to 14100 on Jan 1, 2020, to 14300 on Sept 1, 2020. Yes the last price hike was due to it being a new model, it went up nevertheless.

Hope my own joking prophecy doesn't come true....lol

Not a special occasion watch for me! I’ve worn this watch on camping trips out west, rafting the middle Fork of the Salmon River, most recently hiking 14’rs in Colorado. It’s my daily and I love it!
It has a few scratches on it but I don’t care. I think it looks better than all shiny and pristine!

I love it. I usually wear my Hulk for such adventures as it feels a little more appropriate, but that’s what watches are made for. Enjoy it in good health!
