Help me decide please? Rolex or AP
Thinking of adding a bracelet to my three offshores. First obvious choice and preference is the new 15500OR black dial but the Rolex diamond bezel green dial president bracelet is an exceptionally gorgeous piece. So let me know what you guys think which one should I go for I have tried on both can’t make up my mind so all opinions and expert comments as always are greatly welcomed

Rolex is nothing special best for beater watches, ap is just on another level. Still don’t understand people who try and compare them. It’s like asking should i buy a ford or a Ferrari

15500 for sure, but at that price I’d try to get a 15202or

I’m a huge rolex fan but in this case, the AP wins hands down!!

I love both of them, I just got 15500OR before the lockdown. I might get this Rolex later.
The price of this gorgeous Rolex is less than $50K, but AP is $55K. |

The Rolex is a lot more flashy than the AP and it will be a lot more recognizable, even the woman in the counter of Walmart is going to know what that is.
The AP is more elegant and I think it's also more attractive if you see your watch as an investment object. In that price range I'd probably go for a more classy option, but if I had to chose I'd take the Rolex. The RO should be in steel imo. |

I've owned both, except the rolex didn't have a diamond bezel but the AP hands down. The RG presi with olive dial is an incredible watch with an awesome dial, you could save the 20k and put it towards another watch. Or IMO I would buy a RG blue dial 15202 over both.

I just bought a YG DD and went through this decision too (but no diamonds for me). I have been a PP waiting list for two years for a nautilus and decided the DD was always a grail ( until the next one comes along). Pricing on a DD also can be had at discounts and not sure you can with AP. I have no AP boutiques near me to try one on and handle it, so Rolex won for me.

I have owned both the 26331or and the Day Date. The finishing on the AP simply miles above the DD. And while the DD is a classic piece it simply cannot hold a candle to the AP on bracelet. And if the difference in price is $5k....this makes it more of a no-brainer for me. 15500or or BUST !

Usually these "this or that" posts are a tough decision. But, this one is easy. 15500OR all day, every day.

My vote is for the AP, you just can't beat the RO bracelet and getting a glimpse of the beautiful movement every time you put it on.
Perhaps because many models are comparable? Would you rather have a Ford GT (any year) or a 1989-1995 Ferrari 348? |

I'm firmly with the general opinion, the AP by far! I like Rolex, and have a few, but to me that DD is very 'blingy' and unsubtle. That said I'd prefer a 26331OR to 15500OR, but I understand you do already have a couple of chronos, including a mighty Summer Edition.

Im talking new for new to me there not even close to being comparable. Rolex should be compared to brands like omega IMO. If your going any year then yes im sure you could pick a paul newman daytona over a quartz royal oak lol

In the OP's case, the AP is what I'd go for, but that's only because that Rolex is way too blingy. I never shop by brand. Only by the actual watch itself. |

One is horological art, from the craftsmanship that produced the bracelets to the finishing of the movement. The other is purely utilitarian and robust.
I have both AP and Rolex. But if I can only chose one, I would go AP Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
