Well I have to say I agree with the others on this thread for the same reasons. I bought the 126622 rhodium last month. No regrets at all (apart from being also in love with the blue) it is a beauty and wears so comfortably. This watch might be the perfect one Rolex collection. Here are some of my pictures - bears well under macro!

Plenty of people like these. Just not as many as the Sub. There aren't many watches people like as much as the Sub to be fair.

I like the blue dial and considered picking one up, but I don't like the bezel and it's too expensive for what it is mainly due to the bezel.

OMG, do ppl not know how to quote without including the pictures? I guess the site needs to have a beginner's guide

It’s a beautiful dial. The blue just pops!

My girlfriend is in love with the 37mm version

I have a blue sunburst DateJust but I can certainly understand the beauty of the blue dial too. The 37mm is good for a women’s size or smaller male wrist.

Always thought I didn’t like the bezel. That all changed when I tried it on. Now it’s my daily wearer. I love the “sparkly” dial of the old version.

YM Rhodium is one of the best looking watches in Rolex's line up. Since you tried it and liked it, go for it. Can't go wrong.

This is definitely one of the most comfortable watches in the Rolex line-up (can't say THE most because I haven't tried them all on myself, but I'd gamble that it's top-3), and has been since inception. It's a refined, well thought out, slightly upscale Sub. Perhaps it doesn't speak to the masses quite as much as the Sub does, but you're also in a much more exclusive club when you've got one. Stop over thinking- you already have your answer!

Thanks all - glad you like the pictures (sorry for clogging the thread though).

OP the post above is good advice - go with your instinct. At the end of the day you need that emotional connection if you are going to bond with the watch. I suspect some people want to love the Submariner and own one but are frightened to admit to themselves that it is not the miracle piece they expected and they might actually prefer a less popular model such as a Datejust or in my case the YM40.

I wouldn't worry about the bezel - it will mark a little which is part of ownership but it can be re-polished or even replaced at service. Ceramic can shatter and with the lack of fade and scratches looks a bit sterile to me. In person the platinum sparkles and has a depth / richness to it.

For me the YM is the thinking man's Submariner - cool, calm and collected (with a hint of fun)!

It’s a beautiful watch. As others have stated it is very comfortable. I had no issues with the bezel. I don’t trash my watches but I don’t baby them either.

YM and Milgauss are both highly under appreciated watches IMO. If the aesthetic appeals to you, 100% go for it!

If 1 billion people love the Sub they own and 1 person loves the Yachtmaster they own its the exact same outcome.............every single person enjoys the watch they own, win win :)

Basically my thoughts are I love everything about my Yachtmaster, especially how comfortable it is, the way it looks with its slimmer & more rounded lugs, the polished links and case, the bezel & the fact the bezel doesn't scratch like some say it does.

Some also say why buy a Yachtmaster if you don't own a yacht, its like saying why own a Submariner if you don't own a submarine.

You tried it on, done your research and more importantly like it........so go for it :)

Fantastic set of images, love the macro shot makes me regret letting go of all my Nikon glass.

Thanks so much. I have been learning what works and doesn't work with watch macro photography - I took those with the Canon 100 2.8 which is a good lens but hard to focus especially because of the shallow depth of field.

Fantastic - great to hear you have been inspired. Photography and watches are two of my favourite things so it's great to combine them. If you don't have a macro lens you can also get pretty good results with extension tubes. Enjoy it!

Certainly more comfortable that the Sub. I would go YM over Sub. Much more personality in the YM.

Thanks man - glad my pics have shown what as good watch this is. If you have the budget for one I would definitely go for it - shouldn't be too hard if you have a good AD relationship but if not PM me and I can make a recommendation as I see you are in the UK.
