Buying internationally

Dear fellow board members,

I am considering ocntacting a watch reseller in the US, Swiss Watches Inc. (https://swisswatchesforsale.com/), to inquire about a watch. I am located in Europe. Are there any pitfalls purchasing in the US (apart from not being able to see the watch IRL) and do you have experiences with this particular reseller? Am afraid to purchase fake or damaged watch for a lot of money...

Thank you for your assistance and have a great Sunday!

For such an expensive watch, I personally would not buy a watch international. To much risk and hassle with customs. I have not dealt with the company you are referring to. However, I am going to be purchasing a gray market Patek from The Watchbox within the coming months. I believe they ship internationally as well. I have no reservations with them as they are a pre owned watch resellers that is owned by the same people who operate a Patek and Rolex AD located in Pennsylvania who have been in business since 1916 I believe. They have lots of great feedback. Google them and you will find them on multiple news websites like CNBC and Bloomberg News just to name a few. Good luck with search!

Don't forget about a hefty tax bill upon importing the watch (depending on what country you are in - most will present you with 21% vat plus handling fee)

Nope. Waste of time shipping into the EU. The tax bill is a complete waste.

Of course, because he is such a king. This obsession of many forum members is beyond ridiculous.
