Looking at Air Kings
Well I have come down to getting an Air King or the new Bretiling Colt GMT. So I was wondering for those of you who have an Air King to post some pics so I can look at the simple beauty of the Air King and just buy one already.

Air King and Bretiling Colt GMT is a total different watch in terms of size, design, etc!
Maybe similiar history of aviation watches.. I hope to see some good AK pics, they are nice watches! |

Yep I know they are completely different watches, however, I have narrowed it down to these two.

Here's a pic of mine. I've had it for a while now, and absolutely no regrets.
Good luck on your search!

I know that this wasn't your question, but I recently flipped a Breitling SO, pretty much the same watch as the colt but just slightly bigger. I think you'd be better of with a AK, but that is just my opinion. I didnt like the way the SO fitted the wrist but this is ofcourse a personal matter.

I don't currently have an Air King. BUT, it's a no-brainer to get the Rolex. The Breitling uses an outsourced movement, the Colt will probably be a flash-in-the-pan model. The Air King has a 60+ year pedigree and will always be in style!!
P.S. Huge watches are stupid. A consequence of obesity, like our fat-assed love of the SUV and the McMansion. |

Also, the professional watches were built with a purpose in mind - dial visibility. Seems like a good selling point regardless of whether you actually use the watch for its intended purpose or not.

I had the same watch. Let a friend borrow it (very dumb move) and he fell (of course he did) that day while running for a bus, and scarred the crap out of it. He never (naturally) compensated me for the damage and I sold it for 1/2 what I bought it for. Don't let friends or family borrow money or wear your fine watches
