Any coating will eventually wear on surfaces that are subjected to repeated contact, typically 'points and edges' and I knew this before having the DLC applied.

That said, this is an incredibly wear-resistant finish with these signs of wear developing very slowly over the past ten years, despite the constant use and taking some hits that I assumed would have broken it...does makes a rattling sound when a wiggle my wrist but doesn't seem to affect the function.
Very cool!

Late to see this, but if you have the extra $$ you can always buy a 20mm two tone jubilee from a DJ 36, and use the clasp from your GMT to achieve this look.

I wish Rolex offered it though, but that is another story.

Just found this thread and spent the last few hours going through it. Shame some of the pictures no longer work, but there are some fantastic mods in here. It clearly slowed down as prices started to rise but it is great to see some personalised watches out there (as the owner of a blue 16610). May need to do a Daytona crystal with AR on the Sub and Yachtmaster 16622 second hand.

At first glance just looks like a Harrods edition now

AR no cyclops crystal and 5-digit Yachtmaster second hand on the way for the 16610... The display back is also now calling me!

Sounds interesting. What about a red date wheel? Post pics afterwards!

Forgot about a red date wheel! That's a good shout!

Quite a few pics earlier in the thread that inspired me.
