Bracelet Stretch Question

Hello all,
Perhaps just a case of being overly paranoid about my first Rolex, but I'm wondering if storing it on a pillow that is quite tight will cause the bracelet to stretch at all. I have a 6.75" wrist and the pillows in my watch box need some squishing down to fit my watch bracelets. When i take them off, the bracelet imprint is in the pillow pretty firmly. Bad idea or am I just being overly paranoid? Thanks and Happy Monday everyone!

Stretch is the result of friction, which causes wastage of metal.
No reason to worry. If your bracelet comes with an easy link, store with the link deployed. That would ease the tension and your mind.

"Stretch" is caused mainly by crud and grime building up on the inner surfaces of the bracelet. Keep it clean and don't wear it too loosely and it will be fine.

A watch pillow simply cannot stretch a metal watch bracelet nor can wearing it too tight on your wrist. The term "stretch" really is slang for bracelet wear, caused by dirt and grime literally wearing away the bracelet pins and center links where there is metal to metal contact. This causes bracelet to become loose and sloppy and causes the distance between links to increase.

As mentioned, not to worry.

Your pillow cannot actually stretch your bracelet.

It shouldn’t cause stretch. As others have said, the stretch comes from a combination of friction that wears the pins down when the watch is too big on the wrist and the watch essentially bangs against itself. Second, the dirt and grime then get into the links and further wear them down. The pillow won’t do anything bad. Just make sure the watch is secure so it doesn’t fall on its face.

It's a pillow, not a hydraulic spreader. If you think it is even remotely possible that your watch could be this wimpy why would you buy it? This question is like asking "I just bought a new 911, is it ok if I sit in the driver's seat or will that make it fall through the floorpan?" WHAT??
