No offense to AP, but their forged carbon isn't even worth the comparison IMO.

I agree, NTPT is on another level. I daily my 35-01 and the case still looks the same as day 1.

I have nothing but praises about Material Good, and Yoni Ben-Yehuda, whose treatment is nothing short of first class. Furthermore, he is very knowledgeable in RM and AP, which provides one with an ease of mind when dealing with high value timepieces. Since this forum is about pics, below please find a couple of my RM010ti, which I got from Material Good (it goes without saying that I like the color green in a handful of variations). This is an interesting reference because of the added complication; with an even more interesting wording on the case back (to me at least). thanks

Found this in the Dubai Mall store, real nice piece and I love the elastic strap. They also had a piece unique tourbillon but no pics allowed.

Which RM do you have on your radar?

Problem is to find the right boutique who will release an RM for you. Otherwise you're stuck with all their deadbeat models.

I've inquired on the 11-03 and 55 (White Bubba) at 3 RM ADs and each said the waiting list is 5+ years and their watches are allocated to their already purchased-history buyers.

I did have luck with one of them offering an RM55 with full diamonds and good grace, it is hideous. If I had 300K spare to "throw", I would have bought it to be able to get the other hotter models in the future, but I don't. This is a different league

Hey Guys, I have an opportunity to get a RM 29 from a boutique at retail with 2 extra straps for $82K.
I know it is entry level RM, but I see it as a stepping stone. With colorful strap options,
it really seems like a fun watch as I have never pulled the trigger on an RM and have had only a lot of Rolexes, and a couple APs and Pateks.
I have been up and down the Rolex, AP and Patek lineup and either prices are too steep (on Patek) or watches I like don't fit my wrist (like AP).
I have tried on a Bubba in the past and kick myself for not getting it 4 years ago seeing the prices they are going for now, but it did fit VERY GOOD unlike AP ROOs.
Comfort is important for me. Plus I like a watch I can workout in, be active in and it still dresses up.

I think even though cosmetic, the improvements to date window and added color to the dial, though subtle, makes it quite a bit better looking than then the RM 10.

Of course I was looking at Nadals, Bubbas and RM 30s, but prices of preowned are just too steep. I am not in a position at the moment to drop more than 100K on a watch.

I am posting here because I want to see your thoughts.
I know a lot of you at the RM level have owned a large variety of luxury watches and curious if you think this is a good decision OR if there are better options?

Thanks

Picture below I found online but I think shows off the RM 29 nicely as a solid entry level RM.

Thanks John, nice hearing from you.
I hope business is good and life is wonderful

Thanks for your suggestions... My comments:
The RM 30 allocations are all taken for this year at least in Florida,
so I would be stuck with paying over retail for Preowns.
The best price I am finding on Chrono24 is $115K which is over my budget.

Plus, I do not have much buying experience so I would prefer buying from a boutique first to get my feet wet.
And AT RETAIL it is money in the bank just like every RM (though not as much as others).
I still don't see any preowned RM 29s on Chrono 24 at or below retail. They are going for $85K and up.

Plus I can put entire amount on my Amex with no penalty.
67-01 allocations here in Florida are not available until fall.

But honestly I like the 29 better than flat 67.
I understand why you like the RM 30 better, as I do as well,
but curious why you prefer the 67??? Don't you think it is too thin looking?
Is the RM 29 really that bad to look at other brands (which I have)?

Thanks for your advice

p.s. I am not patient so my thinking was I could have a watch to own and enjoy,
and trade up when I am able to.

p.p.s. What you said has me doing more research on RM30s if I can get on for retail...

Keep in mind that just because they are "possibly" selling at retail doesn't mean the dealers are buying at retail. You will lose money on a 29 no question. Likely a 30 as well.

I personally love the 67 series in general. It is extremely wearable both for sport and dress.

I can't argue with you wanting to buy from a boutique though to build a relationship. In terms of first pieces, the 29, 30, and 67-01 are all going to be considered the same.

Thanks John, even the 67-01 is not available until later this year. Right now it's either RM 29 or diamonds...haha
Also looks like Boutiques are doing a trade-in program here in Florida (which is news to me), so they estimated a few thousand below retail buy back, so yeah, I would be losing some, but then again, I have a while to enjoy it and I am used to losing on trade-ins...lol...
Benoit at Florida Boutique is going to keep me in the loop on RM 30 availability beginning of next year, so the tentative plan at the moment is to get a lot of strap options, enjoy for a while and trade up next year.

Guys, it’s been a little quiet in here. I have been away from RM for a while but I am back. I know the 28 is one of the least popular models, but honestly I have been looking for one for a couple years. It’s a bit of an outfit or event watch, kinda fun at times. I found this one for the right money and made the move. Then I re-established a relationship with a dealer and acquired the 67. More coming next week.
