Why all the neediness?

Buy whatever you like and stop looking for or manufacturing an imaginary force of hate.

I’ve got a two tone Daytona black face and I enjoy it, although I only wear it on weekends and prefer SS for work.

If all those reasons "why not" aren't justification to get a nice pre-owned TT Daytona then there will never be reason. Boldness, lowered cost, and not following the herd seem like good reasons to own for me!!!!

So is every watch made by Rolex a Ladies' watch.

I like the two tone, I almost bought this one but I feel as if the date function is incredibly important to me.

We can share our opinions and our thoughts with you, but if you like it and it "sings" to you......I say go for one! Ultimately, it doesn't matter what we think or how many haters there are. Go for the watch you like and the one that you will enjoy the most!

Agreed. Gotta go with whatever “sings” to you. Rolex $ seems like even more $ when you aren’t wearing exactly what you want.

I hemmed and hawed over a TT Daytona for about a year. I thought it was beautiful in pictures but never had the opportunity to try one in the flesh. I recently had the chance to try one on and the rest is history. I love it, my wife loves it, and it fills a nice spot in my collection as the closest I will come to a "dress" watch.

In my opinion, TRF opinions trend against TT, at least from those who post their opinions. Its difficult to know why some like TT and some don't. Maybe its related to age and perception? For instance, those who grew up recognizing TT as often associated with the 80s may tend to feel TT is dated and of another generation (e.g., old man's watch). Anyways, just a thought.

Thanks, bra!
Not sure what a "bra" is, in this context, but I guess it's a meaningful slur in your world. Do lawyers really talk like that, or just on-line? Anyway, you're certainly welcome.

There is what I refer to as the "SS Mafia" on this and other boards that see it as their mission in life to deride those who like TT references. You should buy what you prefer and ignore the nay sayers.

No hate here.

Just don’t love it enough to buy.

I only buy watches I love.

I got the white and black Daytona 116520 and I love both. I never would buy the TT.

What in tarnation? A Rolex TT Feminine? "Old man's watch?" "Every watch made by Rolex is a ladies watch?" Huh?

I try to be respectful to each and every member's opinion on TRF, but I gotta' say I can't agree with the above statements. I like the Daytona well enough however I don't aspire to own one anytime soon. (Even if I *qualified* under the current AD rule of "buy two Rolex watches and you'll get the one you want".)

The Daytona, in any iteration is a classic IMO. I like the SS or Platty or white gold more, but there's nothing wrong with the TT. (I have more of a problem with the rubber straps!)

Best,
Mark

I think SS Daytona fits squarely into peak Rolex hype. On my last few business trips to NYC, I'm always surprised how many SS white/black Daytonas I see everywhere. These same people all wear the same aesthetic - shoes, belts, jackets, etc.

I recommend discover your own personality and your own self. Remove any thought of what other people think about me when I wear this watch. Find the watch that sings to you. If that is the Daytona SS then great. But if its something else, enjoy a better value proposition and standing out from the crowd.

no more hate than TT Sub or GMT. I guess the simple reason is most people prefer the SS version for obvious reasons.

I ask myself the same question, I think the T/T Daytona is up there with all the other T/T Rolex Models

I had the black dial with the silver hands and frankly couldn't tell what time it was! Seemed like for all that cash I should be able to tell the time...
