Will the 690 return?

I understand the 690 was limited to 500 pieces at it’s release. Is there historical precedence that Panerai always keeps to their number? Could more be released? I know it’s a tough question, as only Panerai execs could probably answer, but its still on the website. What are your thoughts?

It was a limited edition (LE) for boutiques, not a special edition (SE). That designation does leave the door open for a return, but I understand there are no plans for it. I don’t expect we’ll see a rehash of many models from the new CEO.

Based on Panerai's release history yea they will do anything for $$.

But most likely they will release a similar one with a slightly different configuration (e.g. 47mm blue dial without sub second hand, or same dial in luminor case...etc)

I noticed it on their web site too and when I was in the hunt for one, I soon found out I had to go gray market.

It was worth every penny!

I agree with Beef. Very unlikely that it will come back but never say never as the option remains open.

I doubt they will sell it with the same configuration.
More likely it would be something like a 1950 case with blue dial, or some sort of change

If you are going to have 1 PAM and you want the Rokex DNA, this is the PAM to get, complete with a vintage Rolex crown!

I would never say never either. However, my guys here have told me that if the blue dials came back, they might well have different numbers. In other words, we might see a LE blue dial 47mm Rad but it wouldn't be a 690.

I wouldn't like them to re-release if I'm honest because I like that I have a 1 in 300 limited piece 689. Selfish, I know, but honest

I totally understand. If had one I’d be hoping 500 was it too. Id be ok if the came as a different reference. I’d be happy with a 45mm Blue Seal if had that blue sunburst dial. Lol

I would like to see a similar blue dial in a 44mm Luminor. I had the chance to get the 690 in 2017 but I didn't.

A blue dial in a 44mm Luminor? What, you mean like this one?

This is a good one!

I am dreaming of a Luminor 44mm blue california dial.

OP, you might want to start by contacting boutiques just to see if ones available. It’s still showing on the web site which makes me wonder why they display it Maybe just to torture

I recently discovered a reference that I thought had been long sold out and is not pictured on their web site. I came to discover there are 3 in stock however they are spoken for ... I’m now first on the waiting list, should a buyer back out.

I guess what I’m saying it’s worth a shot to call around you just might get lucky

FWIW, I paid over list for my 690 and I’m happy as a lark. I don’t intend on flipping this piece

Good luck

They make and will make many more beautiful models. You can either get one of those or wait until the 690 cools off and get one when everyone else is looking at the next new model to be coveted.
