Hey guys - first trip to Italy
Hey guys! I'm planning and preparing for my first trip to Italy in June. Planning on a few days in Rome and a few days in Florence/Tuscany. From a watch lover's perspective, is there any must do or must see things while I'm over there? I would obviously like to visit the original Panerai store, but is there anything in addition to that?
Thank you for your tips! |

The Florence Panerai store is the one.
If that's not enough, maybe also a visit to Simona's workshop? |

Of course in Florence the Panerai shop is a must. If you're into art, then Florence is for you! The city is simply amazing as it has the Uffizi (Magnificent art museum that has all the Renaissance art we saw in books growing up) plus the Accademia where Michael Angelo's original David plays center stage. Don't miss the Duomo and Giotto's Bell tower, the Baptistry, Piazza Michael Angelo (for a hilltop view of Florence) as well as the the Palacio Vecchio, as these are all superb. A trip to the Santa Maria Novella cathedral is also noteworthy as well as a visit to the Santa Maria Novella apothecary shop, a few streets away.
In Rome, obviously St Peter's, the Coliseum as well as the Sistine Chapel are a must. You can arrange for private guides before hand, either on-line, through a travel agent or through your hotel. It cost more, but this way you end up by-passing the long lines you are bound to encounter in June. Good luck, Italy is truly beautiful... If you would like more information please PM me as I'm extremely familiar with both Rome and Florence having been to both now over 6 times and could provide you with more details info.
