“Hurd wears a classic, the Rolex Dayjust. It retails new for $3,500 but can be purchased pre-owned on Bob's Watches for $3,350.”

Is this a typo?

You can tell some of these are seriously wealthy when they can buy UNs and Chopards in this market.

More Breitling watches than any other. I saw a similar article a few years back and Breitling also had the most watches on that list.

All these CEOs were photographed visiting kindergartens, schools or colleges. So they don't want to flash they other gem stone watches hidden somewhere else in private collections.

I may be in the minority, but I thought it was a poor article.

Agreed. Thought the same when I originally saw this when it first came out.

Even back in March - no chance you could get a navy dial 15400 for $15k

thanks for posting this. I am going to read it shortly.

but I can relate to your comment.

I am wearing a 116655 today. Stallone wears this watch. All I can think to myself is that I am way out of my league.

Then again. It is jewelry for him. It is a passion/hobby for me.

Looking forward to reaching the article.

The "Dayjust" or the "It retails new for $3,500"? The Dayjust obviously is. As for the other, it probably should have read "It retailed new for $3,500" . I know I paid $1,000 in 1979 for my NOS TT Datejust shortly after they had increased in price to $1,500. There must have been some point in time when a new TT DJ retailed for $3,500.

Three thoughts:

1. RIDICULOUS Breitling trolling in the article

2. Lol at Tim Cook. Poor guy basically forced to wear some dreadful Apple "Watch"

3. OP -- why do you think you are spending way too much? Everyone allocates cash to different things. The guys in the article might just not be watch guys, but they likely spend tons on properties, trips, security, private planes, cars, etc.

Business Insider is a garbage website that's basically just clickbait.

That said, I was baited and clicked and found it somewhat interesting.

No way.. All these people own dozens of super expensive watches, but will not flash them in public.

You aren't alone in that. Seems the most popular is Breitling; maybe they secretly yearn to be pilots. FWIW, I'd seen it before. How about that DJ for $3500?

These guys have more interesting tastes...

Some of this is probably utilitarian and some is intentional. Adam Silver of the NBA has a Patek Aquanaut on bracelet but primarily wears a Shinola. Not accidental.

I guess it's interesting on some level what CEOs wear on their wrists, but such is not way up there on my list of things to know.

I find it much more interesting that Stuart Bingham appears to be wearing a Milgauss at the 2018 Shanghai Masters a week or so ago.

Look to Wall Street for a generally more impressive collection of watches:

That is one expensive watch. One of out members used to own one. I believe Muzz/Steve had one but parted with it.

It’s interesting enough to read, even though some critics said it was a poor article (oh brother). A couple of years ago i was really eyeballing the DDII in platinum (would be a grail if i had one). I was actually giving it some thought until I saw the owner of the NY Giants wearing it. I thought - what am I doing? Ive got no biz dropping that kind of coin on a watch. Just a thought and its stuck with me. BUT, Seth you are just as cool as Sly!
