FS: Unmolested and original Tudor Submariner Snowflake 94010 Black ca. 1976
I am selling my complete, unmolested and original, black Tudor Submariner Snowflake 94010 ca. 1976 (no date).
The whole watch is amazing and I very rarely see one like that. I don't think it was ever polished. And what is polished away from the campfers was probably polished away by wearing the watch under sweaters or shirts. The campers are still visible though. The lugs are thick and even. The watch certainly has a life-history written on its case but all is still totally original. To my (non-professional) eye the face looks pretty flawless. It is flat black and ever so slightly faded. There is a slight discoloration on the 2 and 3 markers. Apart from that the patina is a beautiful light cream and matches all hands. The material on the markers is very nice and even and not sponged up in anyway. Hands are in great shape, with nothing cracked or loose. So is the bezel. There is a light scratch to the left of the 50 but the pearl is intact and has a fantastic cream color matching the rest of the patina. It comes with a very hard to find and correct 9315 folded bracelet with diver extension and safety clasp and the also correct 380 end-pieces. The bracelet is also in great shape and has only light stretch. It looks a little scruffy but that is only because I never polish anything. It comes with 13 links so it fits a big wrist, The movement was completely overhauled by a great NYC specialist about a year and a half ago. At that time the watch was pressure tested and I have been swimming with it many times. As I am not a watchmaking professional I have no pictures of the open watch but I think it is clear from the picture that this is the real deal. The dome shaped plexi appears to be still original and again it has a few light scratches but nothing that could not be polished out with some patience and PolyWatch. The distortion it makes are just crazy beautiful. In my mind this is THE Snowflake to have, short of a M.N. No box or papers. The watch is in such great shape, so complete, unmolested and original, I am asking $7,900.00 for it, including bracelet, 6,900.00 without. Price includes free, fully insured shipping within the continental US. But I can also ship other places.
