In search of a chronograph

Does anyone have any recommendations for a nice chronograph that is 40mm max and has a water resistance of 100m? I will use the function and it would be one that would be exposed to some water on occasion. I prefer something not too colorful (eliminates the zenith 38mm el primero). The Daytona fits the bill but too nice of a watch for my daily use. Thanks!

A Tudor 791XX or 792XX sounds like exactly what you're looking for. You get the choice of bezels [60-black tacky, 70- 12 hour rotating [my fav], 80- engraved tacky] plus a date function all wrapped in the familiar Rolex Oyster case.

Have you considered JLC? They've got a 42mm and a vintage inspired 40mm Deap Sea Chronograph that I think are pretty nice looking, and they're JLC so you know the quality is there.

Zenith has this on a bracelet available

38mm, 100m water resistant. I've seen the 42 in person & it's a really cool piece.

Zenith has a few 38mm with the El Primero that aren't tri colored. There are the blue and brown Chronomaster Heritage.

Timeless Watch also released their own Chronomaster Heritage which looks nice:

Thanks for all of the recommendations. The Zenith heritage is really nice but dressier than I’m looking for. I’m going to look further into the Tudor big block and JLC as they seem casual enough for daily wear and are attractive timepieces. Thanks everyone!

For 40mm size and sporty, Daytona is the only choice. Rolex is so robust and can really take daily abuse. A black dial Daytona with wearing marks is very classy! I also recommend JLC master control chronograph, a bit dressy but real nice dial. The JLC movement is also very robust. I also have the Zenith and Omega mentioned here, but the sizes are not 40mm.
