The 15202 is an absolute stunner. Amazing pictures here. Now I know why there is a premium as compared to the 15400. Definitely worth it.

This thread is amazing. That is about all the input that I have until I get one of these bad boys.

For my own reference, all of you who have purchased, has there been any discounting at the boutiques? I think that I will go that route when I pick up my 15202 (come bonus season!), as I love the 5 year warranty, and love their service, but I was just curious if there was even a small adjustment? (Maybe credit v. cash? At FP Journe in Miami they quoted me 3% off everything if I paid in cash, rather than put it on a card.)

Usually AP boutique doesn't discount. In return you get longer warranty, some free gifts and generally better service.

Again, your mileage may vary on the boutique experience. In Japan, for instance, no 5 year warranty, no goodies, nothing. I had asked for Royal Oak book and he said it would be $250 extra. Really was a disappointing experience, but I wanted the piece so I just ignored it and went on my way.

Yes, not all AP boutique discount or have 5 years warranty. Why don't you try for an AD? You might have to wait longer but they general get the goods eventually. And AP boutique NYC I am quite sure gives out a 5 years warranty and also some nice free gifts.

AP NYC is fantastic. My only point was that some people may assume that all boutiques offer the 5 year warranty and that is not the case.

some time back, I had come across pictures of the 15202 mounted on a rubber AP strap. it's my understanding that this is a fairly arduous process (as far as finding the compatible plots, etc). Has anyone here ever attempted this?

I saw a kit available for sale ("apbands"), but the pictures were only for the 15300, 15400, and certain ROCs. No mention of the 15202, although the description says it's compatible with "all royal oak and jumbo cases," a claim that I am a bit skeptical of.

Had my Jumbo for 2 months and i am still amazed by how different the dial looks depending on the light. Sometimes blue, sometimes charcoal grey, almost black at night.
Truly amazing.
