Ole Mathiesen watches
Recently I've had my eye on Sinn and Damasko as options for adding an affordable everyday automatic to bang around when I'm in very casual dress. This popped up in my IG feed and caught my eye:
[IMG][/IMG] https://olemathiesen.dk/product/om10-40-a-b/ Anyone have any experience with this brand? I really like the look of this piece but my first concern is that it is a bit expensive for what it is (ETA) at around 2500 US. A new Sinn will only set you back around 1300. It also appears to have a "sandblasted" effect on the bezel and case to create a faux patina which I'm not wild about. Here's an NYT article I found about Ole Mathiesen from 2010, they have a neat story: https://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/19/f...t-acawole.html |

Hi! I live in Copenhagen and Ole Mathiesen is my local AD. They have been around for exactly 100 years this year and they make pretty solid watches. I believe they started a brand in their own back in the sixties. The Sinn and Damasko watches are a tough competitor regarding both build and pricewise, so not an easy choice! Maybe you can get a small discount and 20% tax reduction if you export it. That makes the pricegap a little smaller. The diver (150m) you show is a watch I really like because of the slim profile. See pics.

What a wonderful reply, thank you so much. Beautiful pics. I too really like the profile of this watch. I just wish it were 1-2mm smaller. You are right, it is tough to beat a Sinn! This one is definitely in my top few of this category however.
