Rolex 168000

I recently bought a Rolex 168000. There is some mystery regarding 3rd 0's being stamped onto 16800's. I was told by someone that mine was not a true 168000 as the serial number was 9.65mil and not an R serial. Does anyone profess to be an expert in this field that may be able to shed some light? Below are the pics:

Thanks a mill

I’m certainly not an “expert” but mine is a 9M too...

Engraving was apparently done with a pantograph, which didn’t give the uniform results were used to seeing with laser etching.

The ones I've seen with actual papers the majority of them were R serial numbers and you rarely find 168000 with 9 mill serial number with papers for some reason, but also a good indication is the last 0 I noticed with the ones that have papers were always Under the letter I in design...

I have a 168000 sub with a 9 million serial number. I purchased new from an AD in Honolulu.

I don't think the links are working. Usually the third 0 is not perfectly aligned so it is easy to spot if it has been added.
