My 'can't afford a vintage PN Daytona'

Can't afford and even more 'couldn't convince myself to pay that much for a PN, Paying over 100K I expect at least something complicated and 1000 times better finished like a for examplePatek, Lange and some others

That aside ...
This LE Omega CK2998 is a pretty cool watch
And it does remind me to a Daytona PN, but in a good way ... It's not s silly 'hommage'

That's a cracking watch and it's interesting that they offered it in this new colourway at this year's Baselworld. Did you get a discount on it? lol. Huge congrats. Enjoy it in the best of health.

well they seem to be sold out and second hand I saw one or 2 with a premium .. so don't expect a nice discount :-)

I’ve never regarded the Daytona as better than a speedy.

Not for a solitary minute.

The red hand is just incredible, this and the Alaska Project are two of the best speedy dial variations in my opinion.

Have you seen an Alaska Project in the metal?

Speedmaster has way more important history than the Daytona.

If anything, Speedmaster is superior in all respects other than resell.

No comparison or which is superior
This watch is simply gorgeous

Having owned it for about month I can tell you this watch is just plain fun
The classic configuration and color way with accents and pop of color while being in a compact case it's versatile and no issues with "under the cuff" Dil lena

It's as if all the things watch nerds love in one piece with enough classic and quirky thrown in the mix

The watch also looks upscale with polish and gleaming ligh everywhere on the face of the watch with anti reflective coating under the sapphire which has a domed look

And it's a manual wind...smooth winding action...mmmmm

I agree. Regardless, this is a great looking watch with just the right amount of red.

Awesome watch bro. I'm glad I found a post of this watch I had just committed to 116500LN Daytona for 19k and I saw this on the Omega website during the week and went today to buy one and they were sold out... I figured I could buy this watch and the remaining budget look for a deep sea blue...

This Omega watch is just awesome it reminds me of my tag heuer monaco cal 12 blue not an expensive piece but gives the same old school racing vibe.

Congrats again on this awesome watch I look forward to purchasing one soon.
