Big congrats man! I see you went through a tough choice to get here but I'm sure you'll be happy with your decision. I actually have taken a recent liking to the 389 too after seeing it in one of the threads here.

It's a good looking watch. Despite lots of negative things people say about panerai it still is quite a special watch to me and love my PAM 312. I'm sure you agree that's why you've also ended up with one ;)

Enjoy!

You made the right choice. The wrist look is great. There will always be a market for a pre-worn Pam if you want to trade it.

Would like to thank everyone for the kind words and encouragement. I'm just finding myself getting engrossed in the "strap game," there are sooooo many straps!. If I can't swing a new watch every year, well at least I can get a strap!

Congratulations! The 389 looks good on you. Not many can pull off a 47mm watch and make it look good.

I was thinking of selling my LVc after I got the 422. In the end, I think I'm going to keep the LVc (for now) since it's such a unique watch. I do love the 47mm case with the 422, but it's also fun switching back to the 40mm LVc.

I really, really, really thought about...and as much I as did not want to, I couldn't shake the 389 outta my head.....i had to given in.... I think it might have been out of a strong impulse and infatuation....and getting bored with the 116610.....which I felt like I could easily get back the submariner at any point in the future. plus I have the 116713LN and the 116613LB! and the case design, in all honesty was too similar for me. Now my only SS rolex is my trusty daytona.

I've had the watch fro a few days now, and honestly,...I don't miss the sub yet. It definitely has much more wrist presence, and i would say that is a very solid watch - it's built like a tank without a doubt. I'm very happy with the decision of trading the sub, no regrets....for now.

big shout out to boxertime for helping me make this happen!

Here are some pictures I took over the weekend:

Very cool and congrats. Can you post pictures that are taken in better light?

That's a sharp looking PANERAI. It seems you were strongly leaning towards the flip. Congrats!

Congrats - I think thats a good move. I love my panerais as they offer such great wrist presence and look to them that few other watches out there can match. If you ever tire of this PAM you can always pick up another sub, AND have the experience now of owning both!!

I love the 389, even though I'm more of Rolex fan. My 389/372 complement my Hulk/BLNR/DBlue/1680 nicely :)
Enjoy!

Congrats!!
I sold all my rolexes (116610 both black and hulk, 116710, 116660 both black and james cam blue) within 2-3 months of ownership. They never really put a smile on my face other than the first day taking them home from the dealer.

My PAMs however, I still have the excitement of walking to my winder, play with them while enjoying my morning coffee!

I did sell my used PAM233 for a new 1166710 which might be the biggest regret in my watch journey, I spent 3 years hunting for a great condition Dot Dial 233 and finally found one in 2014, the happiness exceeds when I get my first Patek 5711.

PAMs are really fun watch, I hope you still think you made the right decision even after few years :)

Congrats!! Good decision on trading the 116610 for 389. 389 is a good looking watch.

Since you already have 116713LN, 116613LB and the 116520 and will hopefully be getting the 116550. So having a Panerai in your collection is great!!
