Trump threatens German carmakers with 35 percent U.S. import tariff

Thoughts from the BMW fans here?

I've never had a thread locked on me. If it is I would hope it's other members' behaviors and not mine. I'm aware there is a big BMW owner base(?) on the site. Was curious what they thought.

Ok . . . I didn't realize discussing proposed tariffs on luxury German automobiles was a thread-locking offense.

Maybe BWM will just have to build more cars in the US. Their largest factory is already in the US South Carolina. Im sure they will find a loophole around this.

Frankly, a lot of countries around the world already have major duties/taxes on imported cars. I don't see why it couldn't happen in the US. Look at China, Korea, Australia, Malaysia, etc.

The name of the President of the United States (in two days' time) in a thread title discussing a tariff that, if imposed, would affect members of this forum that drive German cars - all in the 'open discussion' forum. Come on.

Apparently not. Good grief, folks. I'm moving on, but some of you could do with some growing up though.

'The "T" word.' Oh lord.

A thread discussing "president" watches was locked shortly after the election.

Come on, have some common sense. People get fired up over stuff like this.
