vintage purchase guidance

I'd really like to buy my first vintage Rolex. Have spent a lot of time reading, watching videos, sorting through forum stickies, etc. I'm still feeling unqualified in determining whether a particular watch is a good deal (is it over-polished? is it a redial? how much do those things mean? ...) I check all the forums, chrono24, ebay, etc. for similar items to get comparatives. By the time I feel somewhat confident it's sold.

There is one in particular I'm looking at now, and wondered if anyone would want to take a look at it and let me know what their feedback is? It's from circa 1969 with a bracelet from the 90's. I will post pictures here, but don't want to run the risk of throwing a potential seller under the bus. So let me know if you think this is in poor taste.

Thanks!

You could pick your teeth with those lugs... It looks like it's seen the polishing wheel a few too many times. I'd look for something with a better case.

So me being naive and new to all this...it's over polished to the point it's lost the original lines, and therefore less desirable?

Yes. Look how thin the bottom left lug is. At this points its not the original lines being lost but just the shape of the lug.

I don't think that Rolex put that lume dot on top of "SWISS".

I agree with this. Also, might just be me but i feel the indices and the hands do not match on the shade. The hands look newer. Service hands maybe?
