To Dad

Inspired by the WRU Drinking today thread, 20 years ago today, my father passed away from ALS at 65 years old.
He loved good whiskey and to have fun and as I sit here today thinking about him and sipping the best whiskey I own, I sure wish he was beside me to enjoy it.
I always wonder what he’d think of our world today. I think he’d be both amazed and annoyed with the changes.
To those of you who become impatient with your parents, be happy that they’re around to annoy you. You will miss them one day......

I’m sure your dad would be happy knowing you’re enjoying a nice scotch.

That watch and packaging were meant to be together.

Thank-you gentlemen. I didn’t notice the blue container until I posted the photo. It does really match doesn’t it.

Cheers to your father! It’s great to remember him in that way.

My father is 70 and loves good Scotch too, and I’m very lucky that I can still enjoy a glass with him occasionally. He makes fun of my watch obsession and calls my Rolex a “Rolodex”.

I love that watch. I had one a few years ago and I’ve always regretted selling it.

Thank-you and enjoy your dad’s teasing. This watch has become my favourite.

A fine way to remember him Don.

I have parents in their mid 80s and my dad isn’t doing well. I appreciate every chance I get to spend with them, and lately have been making even more time to see them with our kids.

Time is all we’ve got in the end, I’m going to use it wisely.

Thanks Brian. I wish my kids would have had a chance to know him. My son was 3 and my daughter just born when he passed. It’s always tough to see them decline. My mom isn’t well anymore either.
