Whats your opinion think on this root beer GMT, it was offered to me by a friend whose father left it for him, he doesn’t care about watches so he is giving a good price or so i believe.

What do you guys thinks is worth? Keep in mind it has no box or papers, but it seems to be running ok

Thanks again for all your help

I think I remember reading on here that the silver-text all-brown insert is a rare service dial, does anybody know about those? Anyway that looks ok but need clear pictures to say much

Clearly a well-loved watch with some condition issues. The dial is damaged and the hands looks like replacements. Well-polished case and stretched-out bracelet. It has some charm, but the collectible value is definitely diminished by those issues. What is your friend asking?

I agree with Dan.

Also what is on the backside around bottom of case?

For $5K I’d say that’s a decent buy? Wait for the experts, but to me I see it as hard to go wrong on that offer.

I would have to put some different hands on there, which is kinda funny I know given the overall condition. To be clear the dial is damaged and not tropical, as such the value takes a massive hit.

Know that you will not get much appreciation other than inflation on the $5K you put into it or any watch like this. You buy this bc you like the rugged and the overall beater vibe.

I'd want to have a qualified watchmaker look at the movement before I would think about buying it.

The case has been polished and hands are probably replacement. Though $5k is about fair for this watch, I'd pay more to get one in better condition.

probably you need to check with the lume of the hand at first, if not mistaken, replacement hand & serviced dial to me.
