Vegas vacation advice

Hi all, I know we have a lot of Vegas regulars on here so this should be a good place to ask advice. I'm thinking of heading out to Vegas for a weeks vacation in the middle of October. I normally go between June-late Aug and it's usually 100+ degrees beautiful blue skies everyday and still very warm on a night. My question is will it still be shorts and tee's weather mid Oct? is it usually still warm enough to use the pools and sunbathe during the day or will i have missed the nicer weather bye then? will Vegas still be busy and lively. I need to escape the rubbish summer we have had in the UK and feel a little sun on my back and take my sub C for a swim in the pool at the Wynn...

Vegas is still warm in October. It is usually in the 80s during the day and dips down into the 50s at night. Definitely shorts and tee shirt weather during the day but bring some pants and stuff for the evenings. Pools will still be open and plenty warm to lounge poolside.

Weather is best in October, you can still wear shorts and t-shirts and it's just perfect. All you need is maybe a light jacket for an after dinner cigar outside, but that's it!

Yeah but going at that time usually means all the hotel pools are closed !! which I cannot figure out, since when is 80 degrees to cold for the pool ?

It depends on the hotel. Severall Vegas hotels still have their pools open in October.

October is SWEET !! My favorite month !
Pools should be open, nice and cool during the day, 80 or 85 degrees
Nights are 60-65.
Go see the Lion King, just saw it and it was very good

Hotels tend to close their pool around mid/late october. Check Wynn website for informations.
Some hotels keep their smaller pools open year round. The Bellagio does so I won't not be surprised about the same regarding the Wynn.
All those fancy beach clubs pools and stuff will shut down late october for sure.

Not my favorite hotel in Vegas but please,if you find out where the secret pizza place is let me know. It took me one full night of exploration but there was no way I could find it . It's hidden somewhere on purpose and they say pizzas are very good

nice tip thanks i'll try to find it when i go down there as the reviews on the net about it says the pizza is excellent and very cheap. it's on the third floor down a thin corridor lined with vintage record covers totally unsigned. i've never heard of a business trying to keep quiet about it's location before.

Mid-October will of course be slightly less busy and sunny than the summer months, but Vegas will still be lively. You are also likely to find cheaper deals on hotels, resorts, and shows, as you are going in an off-month.

Sorry to say this but October is a very busy month due to conventions, the weather is optimal for these kinds of things, but with the economy still down the drain there will be great deals. June, July, August and December are the off months. Have fun and the suns shines 300+days a year. No rain again this year, maybe 3 to 4 inches. Weather should be about 80 during the day and 55 or so at night.

Have fun !

I will be there in December. My wife and I will actually be there the week of Christmas. We cannot wait. We like Vegas during the off times!

thanks for all the replies guys 5 weeks to go!!!! i always try to find something or somewhere new to go each time i go this time i've been trying to track down a bar/restaurant i see all the time on the tv when vegas is on, it was featured in the movie casino, it's downtown overlooking freemont street. eventually after a full night online i found it it was called the center stage in the plaza and just my luck it's closed for refurbishment until after we leave apparently the ex-mayor is turning it into a steakhouse never mind next time..

An iconic restaurant for sure !! Actually Mayor Oscar is just lending his name,he's always way too busy drinking gin to manage a restaurant...

It's worth to stop by at the Plaza anyway, the place has just been reopened and totally refurbished.
I can't wait to see it,that place has a special feeling to me,it's where me and the woman that became my wife kissed each other for the first time back in 2005.

I believe the hidden pizza place is at the Cosmopolitan Hotel?

We just got back from a few days at the Encore. That place is outstanding (as is the Wynn)... by far our favorite. It is very 'wife friendly'... not necessarily the place when I go for a boys' weekend, but I have really grown to like that place an awful lot.

We had dinner at SW Steakhouse & it was fantastic... albeit pricey (even by NYC standards)!

Have a great time.. I'm ready to go back!
