And so it begins....New Buffalo Nunbuck strap on the Pam104

This is a Vertigo Buffalo strap in nubuck finish. Very soft and comfortable. Tappers from 5mm to 2mm. 24mm to 22mm. I think the string color about nails the color of the Panerai numbers in the sun. Very happy with the leather color. Classy light brown/sand casual look.
I have 3 new straps in bound. Kinda switching up between deployment and tang buckle.

As much as I like to buy OEM and designer name aside, I just don't see a $250 difference in leather straps by Panerai and other quality aftermarket strap companies. Panerai's OEM straps are nice but there isnt any particular material or construction that warrants their price to be higher than a comparable Hirsch strap. It does make it easy for the non watch enthusiast that owns a Panerai to pay up and buy a strap at the boutique and know it will fit. I really think Panerai's rubber strap is average to low quality compared to what Omega has for the Planet Ocean at the same price point. This is especially blizzard considering Panerai is a dive watch that doesn't come with a metal bracelet so the rubber strap is THE only option..
