Radiomir 292 opinions

Anyone have this ? Thinking about one , however I am worried the love will fade away faster than other watches - black ceramic and all.

My other option is Base Luminor 112. There is not much else at my dealer that has my interest.

Thoughts ?

I've admired the 292 for a long time and it's on my short list. A very cool and durable watch, nicely sized at 45 and thin, and with amazing strap combo potential. The only negative is that strap changes are a bit fiddly, from what I understand.

292 on OEM Asso is

Much better pair with your 359 than the 112, IMHO.

I think it looks incredible, but I worry about the longevity of the ceramic and the repair cost of a drop or proper smack against a counter.

292 is nice but I'd rather have the 508 for a ceramic watch.

292 is a very pretty watch .. I wanted to make mine an everyday watch but ceramic is still not quite upto that mark ! Traded with for a Bremont SM2000.

292 nice watch except the wire lug is not as durable as other steel model.

Cheers for your thoughts guys. Difficult decision to make , 292 is so different to any base Rad. The wire lug issue with swapping straps is a worry. Then again put on the OEM Assu. no other strap needed !

1) 372
2) 111
3) 312
4) 320
5) 88
6) 164

I had it and sold it

Nice but I prefer steel watches with DLC

I know ceramic does not scratch but if you drop it it can break ... and replacing the case is insane expensive

I like the 292. But I prefer the 505 for myself.

I love my 292. It's my first panerai, in fact my first "nice" watch period. For such a plainish stealthy watch I could stare at it all day. The matte black case is so smooth and satiny. I wear it everyday at this point and understand that any case damage could be catastrophic, so I tend to baby it. I had read that strap changes could be difficult, but recently changed straps without too much drama - likely more difficult than other PAMs but no issues really.

If there's one thing that is not completely satisfying for me personally now, it's the asymmetrical face. I know the seconds hand replacing the 9 is pretty commonplace for Panerai, but I find myself drawn now to a base dial, like the 372 or 232. I'm also cool with the seconds hand next to the 9, like on the likely unattainable for me 127. Or maybe the 504, but I worry that one might be too brown. Now I'm off on a tangent, but I guess that's part of what makes starting a collection fun. Bottom line, love love the ceramic. If only they made the 504 in ceramic...

Update.

I went into my AD today looked at:

292
112
388
005

In the end I just could not afford to take a risk on the 292 getting damaged. I loved it, but I am not willing to risk the huge repair cost for any case damage

Soooooo, I walked out with a brand new 112 with a free Assulamente strap

Happy as now Thank you all for the advice and tips

I traded my 292 in for my Sub C. Good luck with the 112.
