116610V HULK G series Fake or Real?

Hello TRF experts, I have someone selling this 116610V (not 116610LV), which truely exists. Claimed to be a 'G' series.

I will have to travel 2 hours on a flight to get to the seller in Sydney. I currently own a rolex but its a non ceramic GMT Master 2 from '97.

But I would like to know, if from this pics you can tell that it is a fake or a franken. Numbers on the Ceramic seems to be a tell, but I am still unsure.

Just wondering if there is anyone out there whom can help out, I am willing to take the flight, as I am keen in the watch. I have asked for clearer and closeup pics.

In the meantime, if there is a checklist or things to look out for it will be great!

Looking forward to your replies and thoughts.

I'm not sure without closeups, but the bezel in the second pic looks slightly off. The last 3 pics also look cropped, but can't say 100%. Maybe get additional photos with the sellers name/id in them to ensure he is actually in possession of the watch.

Is it just me or is the time exactly the same in those first two pics? Looks like the watch is not running in them.

Is the sellers name Leon by any chance?

The second hand moved... (I think)

I'm wearing my "LV" today, and the numbers look the same. But the pictures are abysmal. Anyone selling a multi-thousand dollar (even Aussie dollars!) watch should go to a bit more trouble... like taking it off his wrist!

I'm not too crazy about that bracelet either. Has it scratched the case?

Ya know... if you have doubts, wait. Don't let excitement and emotions overrule your common sense. You may also ask the seller if you can meet at a dealer's shop, so that they can verify it for you.

Best of luck!

Thanks Guys,

Thanks M j b.

Toph, the seller is from Blacktown, calls himself Eddie. Do you know of any pledge member in Syd available on a Sunday to help verify the watch@? Lunch on me, or else I have to take a day off work to fly in on a weekday when watch shops are actually open.

Here are 2 more photos, closer this time. probably taken with a phone cam. Thats the best he can do.

the seller is not able to provide in-focus pics - so I'd stay away.
He also seems to avoid a pic from they date window - from the one scratched lug it seems to me that the case is a fake.

Looks good. Insert numbers are the right color and depth, rehaut looks good and date window bevel is nice and sharp.

And a scratched lug is in no way indicative of being fake. It just means someone was sloppy taking off/putting on the bracelet.

Is it that good a deal that it's worth buying plane tickets and flying to see it? If yes, then that could be a red flag.

The emphasize in my remark was not the scratch but the apparent uneven surface of the scratched lug. That does not happen with a genuine Rolex.

Sorry just saw this. Watch look legit to me.
I have sold a couple of rolex, a green Sub ( I bought it in the Uk) being one to a guy called Leon, but he's not from there. He's a legitimate guy and was going to vouch for it if it was him. There's not too many green subs floating around in Sydney.
Happy to try and help If you're really keen on the watch

Lunette Verte, which means green bezel. To my knowledge there is no green Sub with just a V designation following the numerical designation 16610 or 116610, as both the 50th anniversary and Hulk are LV because they both have green bezels.

There are quite a few of the "LV's" with just the "V" on the card....not sure why Rolex did that....but that is just fine.

Just a variation in the warranty card. Same watch.
