Tudor 7019/4 day date question

Hi there,

Picked up a ref 7019/4, and reading through TRF, i found some info on how to change the day - date. however from the advice i saw, i can't quite pick up how to change the day - date complication and if it applied to my particular one?

the day and date move correctly forward. but when the day / date move forward, i then rotate the crown anti-clockwise to move the day backwards one step, but the date stays the same.

is the key to first set the day or the date?

thanks (and gratuitous wrist shot)

Almost! Set date to yesterday, set day to yesterday. Now wind forward to today both will turn over. Enjoy! I love mine.

Wind the watch forward set the date to yesterday. Wind the watch backward set the day to yesterday. Wind the watch forward date and day will turn over at midnight set the time.

Wind the crown backward to change the day until it matches the date, then wind forward to change both together.

These instructions are for a Rolex Day Date, but the principle is the same.

hi again, sorry for the constant questions.

so i fixed the issue with setting the day and date, but now the tudor does not seem to click over the date automatically, i have to push it forward manually with the winder.

if you refer to the below photo taken this morning at 7.50am, you will see that the date is stuck between 2nd and 3rd, when it should have rolled over to the 3rd in the early hours of the morning. i have had this watch for a week, and i only noticed this, since i had set the date correctly.

i tried it again, and again the date wheel does not turn over at the correct time and gets stuck. is something amiss with the movement?

thank you again.

It doesn't necessarily click over at midnight - it can take a few hours. However, if it's stuck like that permanently and never turns over, it might need a service.

it has done that three times now. i have asked the seller, and they advise that i need to wind the watch 30-40 times for full functionality?

"1. Wind the watch (turn the crown around 30-40 times) - winding is essential to get the watch running correctly!
2. Adjust the time until the date+day change and turn the hour hand another 3-4 hours more
3. Then set the time/date/day

Please also start winding your watch regularly (I suggest once per day) as the power reserve depends very strong on what you are doing, how much you move, if you are wearing the watch etc."

i was wearing it most days, so thought it was receiving enough "charge"

My initial thought was to wind it because the day date turnover is power intensive and my watch sometime stops durning the process when low on power but in your photo it's almost 8 way past time where the change should be complete. Unfortunately sounds like service time

Thanks @ SAAS - i think the same thing too, darn, back to Germany the watch goes - lucky it should be covered by the watchmaster warranty, at least they seem open to the idea of fixing it if it isn't working.

although they did mention they serviced the watch before sending it to me too!!
