5980/1A Availability

I know this is a long shot given it's discontinued now, but is it possible to find a white 5980/1A new from an AD? Anyone have any leads they could send my way? Really love the piece but wife is adamant about AD only, so this one may be out unless an AD's got one in the safe somewhere.

Many thanks in advance and apologies if asking for help finding one is taboo, please feel free to delete if so!

Why does your wife instruct the AD route only? A TS here might be able to hook you up.

not that uncommon actually. It makes mine more comfortable when dealing with those sums of money that the watch come from an authorized dealer (authenticity i guess?). Whatever makes her feel better.

I don't like grey for my own reasons, but I just let her think its because she said so.

If it is a watch for her then fair enough, but if it is for him then you have to call the shots lest you live under the thumb, which is far worse than even getting a fake.

Ha, no worries about living under the thumb, at the end of the day Pateks hold value relatively well. I think my wife has fair say over how we allocate our wealth and the means by which we do so, but maybe that's just me.

Either way, any leads would be helpful, Perpetualman, any way you could let me know or message me the ADs where you're seeing the white dials at full retail? I'm fine paying retail honestly and as odd as it is, I actually prefer the white dial.

Thanks all!

It was 3 months ago so likely long gone, but Shreve and Co. in downtown SF had a white 5980 brand new on display if that helps. Mario, the SA there, was a very very nice guy and let me take a look at it as I was surprised to see it in stock knowing it's been discontinued.

I imagine there's a couple here and there. Hell I remember every Patek AD I visited had 2 in the case just 3-4 years back.
