Alpinist Limited Edition...

What do you think of this... thinking about making the move. I love the size, 36.6 mm and thickness at 11.1- I would not wear it on the Bund lol...

I just handled it at my AD. I thought it was too small and the leather strap was hard and not of the quality I am use too with OEM or after market straps from other manufacturers. Hard pass.

The size, to me, is an advantage... so that we know going in...

but the strap is a pain. I guess it will break in, but I know what you mean and don't like a really stiff strap, and can't say I love the look of the strap anyway. So we're starting off a little on the wrong foot... with maybe a replacement strap. Thanks for weighing in here!

I refuse to buy a watch that has the date position at 4 (or 4:30 in this case). I know others are fine with it, but I can't get past it. Also, I think Seiko is missing an opportunity by not having "Alpinist" in script on the dial...though I don't see them listening to me anytime soon. Haha.

those are the most common complaints. I still find the watch interesting though. Why is the date in that spot so bad... just not true to the Alpinist and a weird spot?

I think this model costs far more than its stablemates.

Isn't this one crazy expensive for what it is? I personally don't like a 4:30 date on any watch (there is one watch where I would gladly make the exception though, this one is not it).

Also really do not like the Bund, but that's easy enough to change.
