Depends if you want the watch to wear you?

See those lug ends? See your wrist? See where I’m going with this?

It looks great. I have the same size wrist. This watch is very comfortable. I love wearing mine. Good luck and I hope you purchase one.

It does look as if the lugs overhang in the photos. I thought it was a bit large on my 8inch plus wrist but i prefer a smaller snug fit, that,s me. If it makes you happy then that is all that matters and that is a handsome watch.

However, you've asked the question so I suspect you already know it looks too large.
The beauty of a high end watch isn't just how it looks or its complications, its how it wears on the individual. I doubt you would buy an expensive suit or pair of shoes if they were too large, just because you fancied the cut or the style, so why should the watch be treated differently.
I love the Sky Dweller and wanted one until I tried it on, and felt that even for my 7.5" flat top wrist, it looked borderline ridiculous because of its huge proportions. Made my DJ2 look small and that's saying something.

That’s some good feedback! Comparison to shoes or a suit size. I always enjoy reading these threads.

My friend saw my DBlue at a distance, walked up to me and said “you wearing Big Ben today?”. He has a sub and loves Rolex, like me. My DSSD may not be much different than me walking around in a suit several sizes too big. But I’m doing it.

There’s no accounting for taste. (I mentioned earlier that my wife says I have none (from a style standpoint), so one might not want to take advice from me. )

I think with it sized and a few better pics with different angles and lighting and it’d be fine - I love it ! If you’re loving it, go for it !

With that said, I don't wear socks in sandals and I completely agree with your point. Unfortunately this topic is an endless one and from what I've seen the opposing views will never ever agree on anything
Right, you wouldn't ask what others think and therefore we wouldn't tell you because we don't care and you don't care and neither of us cares that the other one doesn't care....

But this person asked. We are just trying to be helpful. Telling him he shouldn't be asking is not terribly helpful.

I mean, the stainless ones are. The one he has pictured is still like a $30k watch, is it not? So I don’t really understand. Is it not ok for someone to buy a precious metal piece that they like?

Edit: Correction. Looks like MSRP is $41,500. Wish I could buy these $40k “hot models” for no other reason than they’re a hot model. I’m not on that level.

The watch in the picture is one the SA allowed him to try on. The OP doesn't really say what version he wants.

It is a quite big watch, if I remember well about 51 mm lug to lug; the main problem is that the Sky Dweller has the same aspect of the DJ and the DD, so it is more an elegant watch rather than sporty, so to me it doesn't fit well small wrists.
Although I wear Panerai 44 mm, on my 6.5 wrist when I tried the Sky Dweller I didn't like it. The AD had also available the Sea Dweller 43 and I got a chance to try these 2 watches together; well the funny thing is that although they have a very similar large presence on the wrist, I saw the sporty Sea Dweller ok on my wrist, while the Sky Dweller appeared completely wrong to my eyes.
Of course it is also a matter of personal taste.

It will look better once fitted. It looks fine. If you love the watch then it should be a done deal.

Approved on bracelet, barely

I think the wings of the OF make it not work. I’d stick to ss here. Former owner with 6.5. Want to be blue owner.

I say get it , wear it and enjoy . People say on this forum that no one notices if you are wearing a fancy watch . They won’t notice your watch is large .
It’s all about you , if you like it that’s all that matters .

I really liked that rose gold model. There are a few models I like but wanted to just size it in my wrist first. Doesn’t necessarily have to be a stainless model. If they could get another ride gold oyster flex I would hop on it.

I was wondering that it must be the RG model as it looked like WG in the photo but the 2020 model in OF isn't made in WG so must be RG in funny light.
I have a 7.25 wrist and my SD fits perfectly. Enjoy - it's a fantastic watch.

I wear a Sea Dweller 43m on my 6.75 inch wrist and it feels comfortable and seems to fit well. I think the Skydweller is slightly smaller so wouldn't it fit your wrist possibly? Maybe there is a difference in the balance and obvious design between the two models which can be answered by the forum.

7.4 inch wrist here.
The older 326135 on leather probably wears smaller then the newer OF references 326235. Quit are large curve at the endlink side of the rubber strap.
The preloved PM Skydwellers on leather used to be an absolute bargain compared to the ones on bracelet and especially compared to the OF ones. But people seem to have woken up resulting in much higher prices for the older leather references these days on c24. But still the market thinks it's logical to pay at least 10K extra for a different dial and rubber instead of a beautiful bolstered strap...

I respectfully disagree with the last part.... And designers at Rolex as well since on my 7.4 inch wrist the lenght of the band needs to be adjusted to the absolute maximum in the clasp to be able to fit my wrist. And that is with the standard included leather strap for the PM Skydwellers on alligator !

Beautiful watch but a tad on the large side for OP's wrist I'm afraid. However, some people would wear it like this, whatever makes us happy.

The Skydweller is already huge but oysterflex is the worse configuration for a small wrist.
