Icon10 New 1016 very late L serial sold in 1990

Just got this today from Michael M. My first 1016 and couldn't have gotten a better example. Thanks Michael and looking forward to enjoying it!







Crisp and unpolished with perfect case back sticker entact.

Now that is the "classic" Explorer. Very nice Ken, congratulations. Very rare to find a late one in such great condition.

Beautiful! You know Ken, I really like the direction you've taken your collection lately. The 16600, the 16710 (with the 3086 movement), the others, and now this. These discontinued beauties may not be the first thing that comes to mind when discussing vintage Rolex. However, at this stage they may have indeed crossed over into vintage territory. For me, these were the watches I once drolled over in their cases when visiting the AD. It wasn't that long ago, yet sure enough, one by one they all dissapeared only to be replaced by the super-cased ceramic monstrosoties that we see now. Don't get me wrong, I love those too, just not on this particular forum! Anyway, big congrats!

Thanks Gary - appreciate it! I am enjoying all of these no linger produced pieces as well. They are truly the last of the tool watch era Rolex! I enjoy my modern pieces as well but not the same as you know!
