I recently bought a collection and found a poor man’s Daytona!

Well, I found 90% of a poor man’s Daytona. It does not run, missing a pusher and crown. Maybe I will find the bezel before someone decodes the zodiac cypher, lol.

Have any of you folks ever replaced a pusher like this? There are many on eBay, but I’m not sure if a comparable Heuer pusher will fit.

Happy 2022!

That is a nice zodiac depending of it having a 7736 or a valjoux 72. Is its value, finding a pusher will not be a problem, the zebra will be difficult to source.

Good look!

Thanks for your comment. I am pretty certain it has the v72 movement in it. I will bring to my watchmaker and let him clean the movement. I will have to figure out the crown too. I wonder if a heuer/Hamilton/Baylor crown will fit?

Those watches use standard Crowns. Pretty sure your watch maker will find one

Thanks for your responses Ellimon

Here is the movement, I’m pretty sure this is a 72. I will have to beg my guy to come up with some old parts.

Thank you. It was quite a surprise to f8nd it among a collection of real junk. It didn’t seem to really belong, and I feel it was likely misplaced by the orig owner. If the watch could talk I fear it was bought by a young guy maybe stationed overseas during the Vietnam war. It’s sad that the family lost the heirloom.

Yes valjoux72 and a clean one, the modern version, with Incablock and newer chronograph parts style.

Thank you both for your encouragement. I really love the watch. I don’t mind just waiting for the bezel to come along on eBay. I’m more of a Tudor collector but have had to branch out into seiko and other brands. Tudors became too expensive; I kind of lost interest.
