A) The comment is wonderful.

B) I’m getting back into it but not if getting into it means cruising. I do understand the appeal, but potentially being quarantined with shipping flag jurisdictional issues and labor and contact tracing being virtually non-existent is a no-go. My lazy trip is an all inclusive or Vegas. Boat is a chartered yacht or pedal sort.

Anybody ever cruise with Seabourn or any of the smaller boat outfits?

I know right?
It's been long and despite the vaccines administered, I'm still scared of setting sail...
I miss the good old days.

Nope! I'm not interested in being on a large cruise ship. A small group on a private ship. I'd do that!

Haha - soooooon!

We actually had to cancel our December cruise out of Fort Lauderdale due to our pending move, and we changed it into a May 2022 Alaskan cruise with our two kiddos. Very excited for that one.

We're also still going on a quick 4-day with MSC in late September, if all goes to plan.

In all honesty Paul, we'll have to sync up once we're back on the West Coast in NorCal.

Cruise lovers are going to come roaring back on ships. Last year, during the pandemic, I knew people making TBD reservations. Crazy!

I am sure there will be a few asymptomatic passengers here and there, but overall the cruise lovers will not care.

Personally, not for me but I know some fanatics and they love it.

We’re in the “Cruise Lover” category and just cancelled our December cruise. My wife and I both are vaccinated, but don’t want to risk our kids health. You are right - some will continue to cruise and put their family at risk. To each their own. As recent as yesterday, I was going to reschedule the cruise to December of 2022, but don’t have confidence that the risk will be mitigated even by then.

We are cruise enthusiasts. We were scheduled for a cruise of Australia and New Zealand in March, 2020. Obviously, that did not happen.

We are scheduled for a cruise in November, 2021. Our fear is that they will allow unvaccinated passengers, they will have an outbreak and ports will not let us dock. I like cruising, but I don’t want to revisit the Diamond Princess.

Quandry.

Only reason why I waver on the September one is because I'm not so sure that I want cruise credit in case it gets canceled. If December were to get canceled as well, then it would be credit on 2 cruise lines...no thanks.

I know cruising isn't for everyone but we've been on 7 cruises and love them, so this isn't a question as to whether they're fun or not. More of a gauge as to how people are feeling about getting back into it and whether September makes sense for our first cruise back...

Old pic of our eldest on his first cruise a few years back, because what's a thread without a picture.
We cancelled two cruises due to COVID - one for last November and one for this past March.

We had a 15-day Panama Canal cruise booked out of Florida for January 2022, but ended up switching it to 7-night Mexican Riviera out of Los Angeles for the same week.

I don't want to wade into politics and vaccinations, but, was concerned about cruising out of Florida. Mostly because of fear of what chaos might turn out due to Florida's rules. I didn't want to be in a situation of maybe missing ports because the cruise wasn't vaccinated, etc. So, it didn't seem like good timing to do a major cruise.

I like that payment isn't due until November, so I should know if I need to cancel by then.

Looking forward to sitting on the Boardwalk aboard ship and watching the different people who are out and about.

Hoping to shove off in October, then one to Hawaii over Christmas/New Year. Too many to count have been cancelled the past year.

I am a big cruiser.

We have been doing cruises since the kids were babies. We do one every year. Sometimes more than one a year.

Cancelled 2020 summer Mediterranean.

We are booked 2022 December in Seychelles. Everyone has to be vaccinated and tested before going on board. Hopefully it will be ok. Doing a small ship with less than 70 passengers.

As much as my wife wants to go and our kids sometime late this year or next ........ I don't feel it's safe as of yet and we'll all just need to continue to daydream about going one day!?

Hope you and the wife enjoy your mini-cruise this September.

Going on a seven day cruise aboard the carnival mardi gras at the end of October, already starting my diet.
