Thoughts

Good evening all… looking at these two watches from a local seller.
Both Mid/Late 90's, I know the bracelet on the GMT is replaced with a Sub bracelet (it has the diver extension). Other than that, do you see anything that looks "off". I totally trust the dealer but they are not the WIS nuts we have on here.
I also think the GMT has replacement Bezel but it was born as a Pepsi.

Thanks,
-Pete

The 93150 Submariner bracelet was an option for Exp2 and GMT's throughout the 1980's and first half of the 1990's so I wouldn't automatically assume that it's incorrect.

But the pictured GMT also has a swiss-only dial which, if original, would indicate approximately 1998-2000 production and by then, the GMT had it's own fliplock bracelet, the 78790 which supplanted the other bracelet options. So you may be correct that it's the wrong bracelet or perhaps the watch and bracelet match, but the dial is a later service replacement dial.

Similarly, the Explorer II has a "swiss made" superluminova dial which is newer than the supposed age of watch itself.

It is impossible to tell the original gmt bezel color without viewing the original warranty paper.

Thank you so much!
So, is it possible to have an A Series Explorer without the "Swiss Only" Dial, I don't recall if I have seen any - you go numb looking at so many online.
Also, back to the GMT Bracelet, if it has the Wet Suit extension, is that wrong or is that the option you mentioned.

I love this place - especially now that I am looking at used Rolex, life was easier when I liked the NEW ones from AD.

Within the A-serials, I would say it could go either way. Swiss or swiss made toward the very end of the range.

Like I said, it was an option for many years so it would really depend on the age of the watch. I honestly don't know exactly when they stopped but by late-1990's I would be skeptical that it's original. Rolex clasps are stamped with a date code so you can check if the clasp code and serial number are a good match.

Not great authenticating photos, but both appear genuine. no red flags.
The clasp code will date the bracelet
I just bought a 1991/3 (X) serial number GMT MASTER and that has the extension, the bracelet dated to 1994

I know, I grabbed a quick photo - more for me to remember which two they showed me than for authentication but I figured I would post them to see what the community of experts had to say.

Thanks again for the information. If I pull the trigger on them, I'll make sure to post photos. It won't be for a week or so, the watchmaker wants to clean them up and service them.
