Ebay Clampdown

Not sure if this has been posted before.

Money back guarantee if you buy a fake apparently.

They should sub-contract some of the members here to run that program.

it's about time! What a joke to let such high-priced FAKES come through so often. hopefully this is meand you MUST verify a watch to post- versus making it optional.

I wouldn’t exactly call it a clampdown, more of a modest reaction to so many fakes flooding the market place... if you’re cynical you could say they’re cashing in on the problem.

It’s an extension of their high-end handbag validation program.

Totally optional for a seller. And eBay does the selling for a 20% commission on top of other fees.

I just went thru their entire inventory of 83 "authenticated" PP's.

81 were from Govberg Jewelers, 2 were from Jomashop. So it appears to me that the authentication process consists of allowing well-known dealers who already offer money back guarantees to list their inventory as "authenticated."

Wake me up when those crooks do anything internally to protect their customers from getting ripped off.

With a 20% additional markup why not just buy locally at a jewelry store?
