Ive now attached Photos, and the listing reads:

Oyster sub 5513 James Bond style Divers watch

Origin manufacture unknown

316 Stainless Steel

2824-2 automatic clone

Bezel jammed

Case back we cannot open. We have tried with our tools however the back is too tight. This watch was purchased from watchmakers collection and we are informed that the movement is an eta clone. Sorry we cannot give any further information other than it keeps good time.

The condition is very heavily worn, the Bezel seems to be jammed we cannot rotate it. The numbers between lugs are worn off so watch is being sold as Generic

How would the seller know it has an ETA clone movement if they can't get the back off? Either way it's still not good

It had my alarm bells ringing when I read the serial numbers have worn off? Ive seen some that are rubbed but never uniformly / completely rubbed off, How do the expact the verify its age or ownership, and not much of a watchmaker if he can get the back off, even more alarming is the fact its being bid on !?!?! I may email him and ask for an insurance valuation if I choose to bid on it, which I wont be,

all the best "H"

Saw this myself and posted about it on the vintage forum.. bids up over 1400 sterling !
I would understand if it's a franken and had genuine case, dial, bezel, hands etc. Seems the watchmaker isn't actually the seller and it was acquired from him so who knows. Maybe he built it years ago from parts he's kept when replacing others whilst carrying out service. Who knows.

Hi Steve, I reported it and it looks like now its been removed, I did ask if he could offer a insurance valuation receipt for the watch should I bid and win the item......... He wasn't interested in offering further assistance in regards to the watch or its authenticity..... this just added to my suspicions.

Good hunting, all the best "H"
