At my first job, an older gentleman I worked with had a 16613 bluesy. He was such a down to earth guy with, and just a good friend. The watch was so classy, and I never had the opportunity before to admire a watch like that. He explained how he got it for a special occasion years ago, and it just keeps going up in value over the years. That idea of a watch gaining value as it was used—that was new to me. Anyway, that has always been “THE Rolex” to me, still is. And it is next on my list...

My uncle gave me a blue dialed ESQ quartz watch when I graduated middle school. Was hooked immediately. Wore that watch everyday through high school and college.

The ExII was the first Rolex that caught my attention in an AD. The Sub was the first one I bought, though. It took years to find the ExII of my choice, after they quit producing them.

Not the most imaginative watch in the world but it was my graduation gift from med school. The next stop was a 116610 Sub, and there began the real downfall.

The first Rolex I fell in complete love with was a Bluesy. It is till today when someone mentions Rolex to me the Bluesy comes into my mind immediately.
Its the one single watch that I currently own that I will never ever sell. I can see many others on here share the same sentiment as me. :) |

Baume&Mercier Hampton Classic which cost me a month’s salary backin 2002. My colleague back then whom had an established relationship with the AD brought few of us on a watch buying excursion. It was a watch I treasured very much, wearing it for wedding/formal functions etc. Now, it’s sitting pretty on my wife’s wrist whilst I had outgrown it.
In 2011, a year after we were married, went on a trip to U.K. where we bought a Hulk and ladies 26mm DJ (MOP dial). We had these for 5 years before I sold both in exchange for a ladies reverso duetto. Barely 2 years and it made 2 trips to the service centre for magnetization issues. Subsequently in 2013, whilst on holiday in Germany, we bought a quantieme complet (moi) and a blue mop moonphase which we still keep to this day. As I had never established a relationship with the local ADs, there’s no way for me to get a hard to get SS model. Thus, I had turned to Steinhart ‘homage’ model and maybe will pick up from the grey one day. |

I'm after a Speedy myself but the ones I like (Racing MC) look a bit high so I'm on the fence.

16220. Was out of the Army for a few months and just stumbled on some watch stuff. Thought I should buy myself something cool since I saved up a good chunk of money from deployment. Now I'm here lol.

Everything started from a Tag Aquaracer, which I bought from Italy 20 years ago.. A friend of mine said that this is a replica of the Rolex Sub! I had no idea.. But did not have the money to get a Rolex. However, 13 years ago I saw a piece on my mentor's wrist (bought in 1976), and I decided to follow him.. I got my ND sub, and for the first 2 days I did not know what to do (return or keep)? The third day everything was clear.. And then everything started. Once with a Rollie, always with a Rollie...

I was a teenager when my fathers friend wore a Day-Date in YG. It was the most beautiful watch I had ever seen before. A few months ago, he passed away and left me that very watch. Currently, it is being refinished at Rolex. I can’t wait to see it again, the way it was when it first noticed it; some forty years ago!

My experience started with an Omega as a grad present from Jr High.
But the addiction began 25 years later with an Expl. II Polar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

My ‘addiction’ started with a Black Dial Exp II, but by my second fix below, I was so satisfied I didn’t need the third fix I’d planned.
