Best Value in AP?

Saw a similar thread posted in the Rolex General Discussion section. Responses have been interesting there, so ...

What do you think the best “value” in AP is?

Value can be defined as you see fit. For example, the 15416CE or 15202ST at MSRP are great value when compared to secondary market prices - but value can mean many things.

I am biased (as an owner of a blue dial “Kasparov”), but I think the 39mm ROCs are good value in today’s market. Classic 39 mm case size and additional complication.

This is not a Forum of speculators and watch dealers but lovers.

One of the best value APs still has to be the Pt 44mm ROO. It retailed for over $100k before APs price decrease to $69k and it can still be purchased around $50k. Still the same design as current 44mms and the only non LE or limited production/boutique only Pt ROO. It’s a lot of watch for the $.

Good one. Not talking exclusively about price speculation here. Talking about value proposition, and most interested to read about qualitative factors.

I’d be interested in this if I didn’t think it was, like other ROOs, too big for my wrist. This is a nice write-up.

Amazing wrist presence, especially with added heft of platinum, I’m sure (never handled in-person).

This one would be good value, if it wasn't for display only

If you’re a fan of the 44 ROO’s.. the 26400so panda and 26400io grey seem to be great values relative to others in that range.

Yep, agree the Diver is good value. Although i think it’s now just nudged above £20k.

I recently added a 26480 which is wonderful, but not convinced it’s worth a £6k premium over the Diver.

I am not sure the word "value" and "AP" can co-exist in the current environment

Are we talking New or Preowned market? AP or Grey?
These add another dimension to "value"

To me the 15407 is the "best value". It cost 55k and sells for 100+.

If you are talking about bang for buck assuming retail prices and no secondary prices, then probably the RO or ROC. There is no watch under 30k that looks as nice as a RO or ROC in my opinion.

If you want to factor in secondary prices I would say any of the previous 42mm ROOs. They are all under 25k practically, and that's a lot of watch for 15-25k.

Previously 26574st was of good value comparing to other PC models, but that's changed as of the recent price increase.

I think 15500st is still of good value if compared to something in the same mould of 5711

I would’ve thought the Ghost was pretty good value, especially at grey prices.

Ceramic bezel, titanium, wearability and chrono - it has it all at $28k
