While browsing through various watch reviews one evening I came across one of the most interesting movements I've seen in a while.

The watch is a 1975 Omega Speedsonic f300 Hz Chronograph Chronometer and uses a resonating fork mechanism to drive the movement. Have a browse through the review and let me know what you think.

Oops, I didn't think I pushed submit on the first thread I made. Apparently I did so could I get a mod to delete one of them?

Thanks for that interesting link, Ashley. Yes, I remember seeing this model in OMEGA shop windows when I was in Iran in the mid-70s....very popular then along with the OMEGA Marine Chronometer....still rated by many as the world's most accurate wristwatch.

My Dad bought this one when they first came out. It is an amazing watch, very accurate but the battery only last a year. The second hand smoothly sweeps around the dial and you can hear the tuning fork hum.
