I'm sure bossman Steve will sort it out and give me my old account back and deleting the messages the scammer sent and received as well as the posts he did on the forum. A lesson learned on my part.

Don't use Norton, it's overpriced and doesn't protect you from anything. Use Avast, AVG or MSE (I use a highly configured MSE) they're free and work INFINITELY better.

Don't use Norton. I can't stress that enough. It works worse than free software and costs a small fortune. It's the biggest scam on the internet.

EDIT: same goes for McAfee, don't use it.

Hi,

I am very interested in your watch. Are you the same guy from this thread:http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...28#post2665069

Also, send me directions to pay.... I probably will take it.

Thanks

Wow, people still use Norton and McAfee?? Last time I used those had to have been 10 years ago or longer. I've been using AVG since then - rock solid, and FREE. Norton and McAfee take over your computer - such a nuisance.

If you just clicked the link, potentially you are OK...If you re-entered your account info on the bogus link, the scammer will have your info!!!

Either way, change your account (TRF account) info immediately....If you gave other personal info on the bad link (IE: bank account info), I'd suggest changing that info as well Nikos!!

BACK!!!! YAY Steve fixed everything! I just got off the phone with him, and he has taken care of the situation. He has deleted all the things the scammer posted under my name. I just need to shoot him a quick message about the pledge status right now because I am missing that, and I need to change my password again. Sigh. What a day lol.

Just a little tip if you're using AVG free. I used it for about a year and had no problems until about three months ago when it missed a very nasty virus that I had to seek professional help to get rid of. Maybe this tip will help you avoid some headaches and expense. If you happen to hit on a webpage that starts to diagnose your computer for a supposed virus, DON'T closeout the page by using the X button, your back button or the provided box to navagate away from the page. Use only the CONTROL, ALT, DELETE, feature to shut down the page. If you use any other method to shut it down you WILL download the virus into your computer. I hope this helps.

I jolted off my chair when I saw the price and actually thought it was the deal of the century. I then sent a PM asking if he would ship to Malaysia but received no reply which I found a bit odd. Guess it was too much hassle for him.

Anyway it was too good a price to be true....should have known better.

Charlie, how about Kaspersky Internet Security? How's that compared to the rest?

Hey watchcollectorca - you better check on your WUS account, as it may have been compromised also.
Unless you really have moved to the Phillipines and really are selling a Tag 1887 for $1450!

sent you a PM via TRF in case you don't see this.
Good luck!

sandlerboy77 is another phisher account. I was stupid enough to click through and sign in but realized it and immediate changed my password.

I can't believe I fell for it. Even if it was only for about 60 seconds!

The worst scam I ever fell for was ... being paid by Paypal and getting sent an empty box (bar a few things to make it heavier). ALWAYS check the box contents before you sign. Once you've signed that's it, even if it contains fresh air.
